Won't the MWC champ end up at the Fiesta? Seems like a pretty good fit
Possibility. You figure a consolidated ACC/Big East brings the Orange, the SEC brings the Sugar, the Pac 10/16 brings the Rose, and the Big 10/14/16 brings the Cotton. While Delany and Junker have a good relationship, we wouldn't want to have "our" bowl on Pac 10/16 soil (Arizona).

Jerry Jones isn't sitting on his hands doing nothing while the Big XII is crumbling around him.

Interesting you bring this up, as I thought about bringing Jerry Jones up yesterday. I wonder if his insistance on the Cowboys playing in the east has any impact on where the Horns are headed. It has obviously been a great busines decision for the Cowboys...

OR....

Two automatic BCS invites for Pac16 & Big16, Top 2 go to Rose Bowl and the 2nd invites go to the Cotton...

If we do end up with a 4x16 configuration (or some similar variation), might it not be convenient to encourage the Sugar Bowl to make a place for the ACC/BE league? That way, 2 of the 4 mega-conferences would have a champion in the Rose; and the other 2 would send their champion to the Sugar. Add a plus one and you're done.

Jones is interesting... I wonder how much he would pay to have the Big 10 title game every 3 years?

Interesting discussion going on during The Big Show on 97.1. John Junker has admitted the Fiesta has no contingency plan, as they could conceivably get cut out of this should a Pac-16/Big-16 alliance be formed giving the conference two strong bowl affiliations: The Pac-16 brings the Rose Bowl to the table, and the Big-16 would provide the "new" Cotton Bowl at JerryWorld.

Jerry Jones isn't sitting on his hands doing nothing while the Big XII is crumbling around him.
Wouldn't the Big 16 also bring the Rose Bowl? I don't understand.

My biggest issue with the 4x16 config is that some of the teams on the outside looking in could have a real easy way in to the NC game. With the super conferences it seems highly unlikely 2 undefeated major conference schools are going to exist.
