6. B10 makes it clear that championship game will not be pursued. Instead current rotation model will continue all teams will get 13th game - this gives more BTN programming (and ad $$) but also helps to address ND's desire for 5 OOC games.

OK, I never heard of this before. Is it really an option?

While I don't doubt this at all, isn't this guy only getting one side of the story as well?

That's true. If we presume that his side of the story is Big Ten Conference/UT President's Office, I think that's a bit closer to the pulse than if your one side of the story is DeLoss Dodds.

I have no doubt that Dodds or his proxy is Brown's main source, and to me that's a bit like somebody using Barry Alvarez or Joe Paterno as their source on the Big Ten side of things. The ADs are not the ones that are going to be making the decisions ultimately.

Big Ten Expansion ? Texas Scenario May Fail; Big East Is Next Target ?

Kent Sterling: Texas still the plan, will take A&M to get them, but Texas may say no. Will surely shift focus to Big East and collapsing Notre Dame's house. Most interesting--Sterling states a scenario where the Big becomes a 20 team conference is being tossed around as well.

Who is this guy, and are his opinions valuable?

That is funny, since they were one of the outlets yesterday stating just the opposite.

that seems to be impossible at this point and if it is true, incredibly stupid

and I like how this

is used to try to bolster their report... how about this

despite terrible reporting from your piece of shit news organizations, Texas and the Big Ten are almost certainly having active discussions, whether or not anything will come of them is another matter

from what I understand chip's source is actually much closer to Larry Scott but also has ties to the Big 12

I don't know that he is getting anything from Dodds as they aren't the largest fans of orangebloods

Would that be Kevin Weiberg (former Big XII commish, also formerly of BTN, now working for Pac-10?)

I had read somewhere that Dodds and OB aren't on good terms.

I dunno. You could put this puzzle together about 100 different ways right now. I guess that's why I can't stand to leave my computer.

I find it interesting that Lou Holtz is now saying it would be a good idea for ND to join the 10.

To be sure, opinions of ESPN talking heads are pretty irrelevant in all of this. But Lou is a special case. With his ties to ND and the love that they have for one another it is not unreasonable to speculate that someone suggested he change his position as a way of laying the groundwork and tempering the inevitable storm that would follow such a move.

Omaha World Herald live blog:

12:15 p.m.:If there was any doubt where Nebraska is headed in its future conference affiliation, that should have been laid to rest by the note card Athletic Director Tom Osborne carried in hand when he arrived at the N.U. Board of Regents meeting Friday.

He sat down and started reviewing the hand-written notes on the card, at the top of which were written "Big 10'' and "Reasons.''

The regents shortly thereafter broke for lunch. They are to take up the issue of conference alignment when they reconvene at 1 p.m. -- Henry Cordes
