so here's my projected fallout.

UT/OK/A&M/OKSU/Tech/CU to Pac man
Clemson/FSU/Miami/ POSSIBLY GTech to Sec
Nebraska/Missouri/ND/(Rutgers or Cuse but not both)/ (Va Tech/Maryland/or Pitt) to the Big Ten
Big East and the rest of the ACC merge and start awarding there own Bball championship and withdraw from the NCAA

forgot the rest of the Big 12 going to the mountain west or the WAC doesn't really matter other than KU's basketball team would be dead, which would be kinda sad

for the record, this is all ND's fault. If they woulda joined up back in the day this wouldn't have happened. Now instead of coming into the Big ten on their terms, They're gonna be the ones that get bent over, Welcome to the party

:oh:

Ah one other thing I think we're forgetting about, the boys and girls on the Hill, Chip Brown reported it, and we all know they love getting involved in everything unrelated to running the country better. If there is a perceived widening of the gap between the have's and the have not's .... then Congress will end up coming down hard, they might not be able to stop the expansion/re-alignment but they'll take away the AD's tax-exempt status... which makes the cost of business higher, especially for the PAC 16 with all the travel....

Thats the rumor floating around from woodward and bernstein.... the only one that caught flack was Baylor because of the religious affiliation

I don't think it's going to be as simple as the intrepid mouthpiece is making it sound. All it will take is one vote from Stanford or Cal or a couple phone calls from Mike Slive to blow up the Six Pac.

So is Va Tech even being considered? I have been hoping they would get some consideration but havn't heard anything about them. I do however, think they would be a great fit.

Does Va Tech stack up favorably with the juggernaut that Maryland is? Pitt's not happening unless about 5-10 people say no. They are a money drain, despite being an otherwise strong addition.

Va Tech - I haven't heard anything directly but it does make sense, although you got alot of politics to worry about.

I believe if Pac man wants UT & OK they'll take both... thats the price the Big ten wasn't willing to pay...

Having Dr Tom in the Big Ten's corner when we need representation on the hill can't hurt. Could be a boon to the CIC too.
