True about the campus life but if the SEC thought they could make a buck off adding them they'd be in based on the football team. That's all that really matters to them.

1. If Florida has a veto you can bet they exercise it here. Adding a fourth "major" to the recruiting wars would not sit well with the current 3 "majors."

2. If ND says no, then totally fuck 'em, "encourage" Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue to drop their games. They don't need them; Notre Dame does.

and it's already being reported that Nebraska has declined....in same Andy Katz report on bottom line. Don't think that was there before.

What are the odds this expansion plan absolutely blows up in Delaney's face and we're left to remain the current conference we are, or we bring in a single B or even C level tier school (Rutgers, Cuse, etc.)

If Nebraska has declined, there's no chance in hell Notre Dame accepts. You'd think Rutgers would want in, but do we really want Rutgers without the additions of Nebraska, Missouri, and Notre Dame?

I would say the odds are good. Delaney is a moron.....

If the Huksers say "no" - does that mean that they know Texas is not going anywhere? Why would they want to be left in the ruins of the Big-12 if it were about to dissolve....unlesss the other Big-12 teams were staying or they had made a Pac-16 deal already?

My thoughts: meh.

Notre Dame is probably going to say no. I don't think the Big Ten has done enough to convince them that all other options will be destroyed.

Missouri has had a boner for the Big Ten for a while now, so they will trip over themselves to say yes. Rutgers will probably handle themselves a little more gracefully but also say yes.

Nebraska? I think they're an appealing option, but I'm not convinced they're going to want to leave unless the situation in the Big 12 forces them. I think that's coming eventually, but I'm just not sure if Nebraska is willing to be proactive about it.

If these are the invitees, I can see Nebraska eventually saying yes after some hand-wringing. It would be a 3-team expansion, and my initial reaction is that Nebraska brings some juice, but overall this package lacks the kind of power that I think most of us would hope for in any expansion move.

Nebraska hasn't declined because Nebraska is denying that this report is even true.

It's my opinion as a Husker fan that if Nebraska is extended the invitation they'll take it. Too many reasons not to.

The real question is whether or not the invitation is legit.

A moron who was bright enough to create the BTN. What would surprise me is a turn down to an actual offer. Don't you have a solid idea the lady is going to say 'yes' before you ask her to marry?

So? Even Bob Uecker got a hit once in a while.

One good creation doesn't mean he isn't a moron.

I'm not buying this report, but this is some awfully interesting smoke, don't you think? Wonder where those fellas in KC got their information...

Absolutely hate the idea of Rutgers joining the conference. Other than academics, I don't think they add anything substantial to the conference... and yes, I'm including NYC viewership in my thoughts when I say that. I'd be cool with invites out to those other 3.

Denial from Chicago

A Big Ten spokesman denied the report, telling the Tribune "nothing has changed" since Delany told reporters at the BCS meetings in Scottsdale that everything regarding expansion was "to be determined."
Lending credence to that is the fact that Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Delany has not contacted him regarding Missouri and Nebraska. Delany has insisted he would contact affected conference commissioners before proceeding.
Nebraska officials also denied the report. Asked via email by the Lincoln Journal-Star whether the story had any validity as it applied to Nebraska, Chancellor Harvey Perlman replied, "None whatsoever."

They are all bat shit crazy coaches who are in the news every time you turn around for some new drama.

Seems to be a latitudinal thing.
