They are still a quality member of the conference in many different ways. It's really sad when people suggest they shouldn't be in the conference because it shows a lack of understanding.

Although you don't agree with most people's opinion on NW moving out of the Big Ten.. It'd be the most logical move by the Big Ten. Northwestern is the only private school, the enrollment rate is 7,400. The next closest to that enrollment is Iowa at 28,705. There is a HUGE drop off in enrollment and it affects NW's ability to stay up as one of the top teams. Let's admit it, Northwestern lately has been at the bottom and I don't see them moving up anytime soon.

Whatever happens with the Big 10, I just hope we don't end up with two divisions. I really think that would take something away from The Game at the end of the season. Besides, you'd have to put the Buckeyes and Wolverines in the same division, otherwise they could play in the final regular season game of the year and the next week in the conference championship. So, that would end up with a seriously padded division.

I vote to send PSU to the BE. Maybe they can teach them how to play some Defense.

I get the NW thing, but... they are a founding member and (presumably) have a lot to offer on the academic side. The only way I could see NW is if it was their own choice to discontinue some of their sports programs (much like U of Chicago.)
