The rest of the world had to figure that the USA's domination in cycling was over when Lance retired. So, I've gotta go with Landis' win.
Or not, considering Landis will probably have hip replacement surgery and may not be able to ride again, most certainly not as early as 2007.Then, on the other hand, Landis established himself as the next American to beat in the Tour de France,
To answer the question of this thread I would pick Landis hands-down.I'll go with Tiger, just because cycling seems a little tainted to me right now.
But, Tiger doesn't really seemed to be solely associated witht he U.S.A. He's an international figure and celebrity. His win is probably seen more as a victory for Tiger, whereas an unknown like Landis... his victory is probably more associated with the America.
But I still go with Tiger. He's the most dominating athlete of my generation, and each win seems more and more impressive.
