Ginn had one outstanding season two years ago. Since then Breaston has outperformed him in both the punt return and kick return games. Especially this year, which I believe is the focus of the argument.

Ah yes Ginn who only had a punt and kick return for a TD called back last year on 2 very petty calls, would have given him 4 punt returns his freshman year, 2 his sophomore to go along with 2 kick returns (one being 100 yards), and 1 this year as well. Yup Ginn has only had one outstanding year as a returner... good points :roll1:

And Breaston has never had returns called back. Never. Not once. Nope. Doesn't happen.

Yes because Ginn had complete control over the fact that O'Neal tapped a dude in the shoulder against Iowa on a punt return, and then, of course, he had total influence on the ref against Indiana who decided to call "hitting a defenseless player" on what everyone agrees is one of the biggest sham calls ever.

Why am I even wasting my time with you? Your points are ridiculous and you dodge all the evidence I throw at you. Typical scUM fan of the 2000's who is in complete denial of the fact that his team is 1-5 against Ohio State.

You're missing the point. Returns get called back. It happens, both to Breaston and to Ginn and to everyone who's ever been a regular punt returner. It's far too subjective and arbitrary to call it the difference between the two.

And don't even pretend like you guys don't "dodge evidence." I notice nobody's had anything to say about the yardage averages of Ginn vs. Breaston. You're right....I don't know why I waste my time either. Most people here don't slobberingly worship at the Altar Of Ginn so much that it plugs their ears from listening to other points of view. Then there's you, who comes back with "well Ginn had returns called back so there."

EDIT: See below point: that is something that's hard to argue with, so I, if I felt like completely belaboring the point, would go about "evidence dodging" and probably restate my perfectly good points from earlier. Then you the OSU faithful would further dodge my evidence and present stats that show their guys in a much more favorable light. It's how these things go. I've got stats that prove my point, you guys have stats that prove yours, and it's all in the presentation. But all of a sudden throw out a statement comparing Breaston to Ginn (with stats to back me up) and you'd think I ran over your teddy bear when you were 6. Instant change from the back-and-forth of a debate to quasi-religious fervor and resorting to totally subjective statements like how many returns got called back. Makes me think I struck a chord.

one stat that we don't have access to is passes caught vs. passes thrown to. breaston has the speed and the moves to be a bigtime receiver; however, he drops way too many passes to be considered an elite receiver. you cannot trust that breaston will make the tough/important catch. ohio state has five receivers who have made the tough catch repeatedly throughout the season. m*ch*gan cannot claim this.

While the return average is nearly identical, Ginn scores a TD every 35 returns vice Breaston's every 68 returns (virtually twice as good). Not to mention teams have been kicking short or away from Ginn nearly all year.

Ginn's career average is almost a yard and a half better, and his return-to-TD ratio completely blows Breaston's away (10.67-to-1, vice 31.75-to-1). What makes this even more amazing is the fact that the opposition has been punting away from Ginn for two full seasons now.

Breaston is a solid returner, but Ginn is clearly superior...

How are we dodging your evidence when you haven't even provided us with any? We've given you numbers and scenarios and you pretend it wasn't posted, then you make claims and state that we're dodging your evidence. The fact that you look over called back returns is just another way that you pretend things didn't happen.

I'm not going to restate everything I've said. You need to go back and find it. Trust me, it's there. And I'm not overlooking called back returns. If anyone is, you are. I didn't say they didn't happen to Ginn. I said they happen to everyone. You need to read posts more carefully.

As for "we've given you numbers and scenarios", I am one person and you guys are about 10 or 15. I could sit here all day responding to everything and still it'd look like I was "dodging evidence" because I absolutely cannot research and type that friggin' fast to catch up with 10 or 15 other people.
