Best Fan Bases (of programs other than Ohio State)

From my experience living in Houston, I would say Texas fans.

"Y'all a bit strange about your football. Don't you ever leave that place? Well, I suppose it's good and keeps you linked to your kin and all. Now, Darrell Royal, there was a good old boy, why he..."

I liked 'em and they were ever so gracious.

Texas fans for me. ND as well... proportionally there are far less ND idiots than [insert good Big10 team (UM, PSU, yes OSU... here] idiots. There are times where they can be arrogant, but unlike those from AA, that pride typically bolsters their pride rather than tearing down the opposing team.
Now, I don't live down there so my experiences are limited. But, the Texas A&M fans a few years back at the Sugar Bowl reminded me a lot of OSU fans. Great group of people and humble.
lol... better not let HL or his posse see this one.

I agree on aTm one bajillion percent. Beautiful girls, travel well (much better than us for that game), party hard, nice and cordial, beautiful girls, and all marching band songs are military fight songs--their band are all ROTC members. That sway thing they do to their alma matter is freaky too--it makes it look like the stadium is falling down. Did I mention that their girls are smoking hot (and even nice as well)?

During my stay in Longhorn country, I came to enjoy my interactions with UT fans. They reminded me of the Buckeyes fan base a lot.

Aggie fans were a little delusional and most suffered from little brother syndrome.

My favorite group were the Red Raider fans. I worked with about 5 TT grads and enjoyed all my drunken experiences with them.

If you've ever seen the girls that go to A&M, you would run the other way as fast as you posibbly could.

UT coeds were by far the tops in Texas. Tech girls were by far the most casual, morally speaking.

When we went to Iowa, we were treated like Kings. Recommend it to all.

I lived in Nebraska for a couple years and it seems like people in that area of the country are just all-around nicer people. Better, more patient drivers, willing to help if you are in need, very polite, etc. Not all that surprising though. I think a lot of it has to do with passion. Granted there is not a whole lot to be excited about right now as far as Nebraska football goes in comparison to other main programs, but they do not seem as passionate as the Texas' or Ohio States. That would be my explanation as to why they are found to be more kind.

Fans from the state of Texas seem to be a great group in general. The Texas A&M fans in New Orleans were great when we played them in the Sugar Bowl. Their fans were into the game the whole time even though we handed it to them pretty good that night. This year Longhorn fans were pretty cool to talk with before and after the game in Columbus. I was very happy to see them win the Rose Bowl.

Just from general experience, I would say Texas seems to have a very knowlegeable fanbase, and a very classy one as well. Nebraska fans are unique. They travel probably better than any group in the nation, and probably focus more devotion on the Huskers than the fans of virtually any program, including tOSU. Nebraska football is almost literally the only thing of interest besides crop prices and family/friends in a huge chunk of the state. Husker football gives the state an identity to the nation. Buckeye fans do not rely on tOSU for our state identity.
scUM St. fans tend to be cool b/c they are the only group that hates scUM as much as us!!!!!

South Carolina fans are real nice and passionate in all my encounters (got family down there), good losers generally, but i guess an overall winning percentage around 47% will do that. Time will tell if Spurrier changes any of that.

ND fans on certain message boards can be arrogant at times, but at games they're almost always very classy. I can't say the same about scUM fans though, anytime I've been to a game they always talk a lot of trash and are trying to instigate fights. I saw an ND vs. Nebraska game in 2001 I think, and their fans were all very nice and good sports, and they were ranked #1 at the time.
