Just posted this as my FaceBook status:

I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, which is a strong Catholic town with two powerhouse Catholic high schools (Ursuline and Cardinal Mooney), and thus Notre Dame has a strong influence in the area. As a child, I was exposed to--and was very familiar with--Notre Dame football well before I even became an Ohio State fan (I knew about Ara Parseghian before I even heard of Woody Hayes). Every Sunday morning during college football season I watched highlights of Notre Dame's game from the day before, and so knew the names of every main player of the team. I knew Notre Dame's fight song by heart before I ever heard Ohio State's for the first time. I have many friends--both back home and here--who are strong Notre Dame fans. That all said...

It is really hard to decide on who I want to route for in this BCS title game becasue I can't stand either team BUT at the end of the day I HATE HATE HATE the SEC and Bama. So I have to say Irish it is but just for the night. Go Bucks!:oh:

Based on the Simpsons episode last night, I think I know what Groening is rooting for.

I'm a lot Irish, was baptized and confirmed Catholic, but I still despise Notre Dame. I am intelligent, have a family tree and not a family wreath, and have a full set of teeth, but I will be rooting :sick1: for Alabama.

Notre Dame beat scUM 13-6

41-14 = 27

as much as I want Bama to win (partially because I was born and raised there, partially because I can't stand the freakin domers).... football games that happen on my birthday do not end the way I want them too :cry: (see 2006 NC game)... its gonna be the domers... big I suspect.
