I'm not interested in any sort of a back-and-forth battle between the two, regardless of the end result.

The only year to redeem this year would be for the AP poll to declare LSU the national champions sunday or monday morning.
Bama's playing for a laughable split and I won't be watching.
Not because it's the SEC (I love watching these two defenses), but because it's already been played, at Bama, and it assaulted the eyeballs of the viewers with its excuses for quarterbacks.

After watching them dismantle OU, I thought they deserved the shot. I feel even more that way after watching the Fiesta Bowl. If LSU wins, they deserve the crown. If bammer wins, I'm hoping for a split.cincibuck;2084787; said:Well, yes, but who else would you put in the game? Certainly not Oregon, not Okie State, not Stanford and thank God Boise State stumbled.
For whatever reasons, the choice seems to be the best possible given the rest of the season.
What I don't like is the strong possibility of reversing a regular season result, but if there had been 8 team playoff with these two teams seeded 1 and 2 I seriously doubt the final game would be any different.
A team that already lost this game, at home, in VERY sloppy fashion, is a pretty lousy choice. For whatever reasons, the choice seems to be the best possible given the rest of the season.
Bama has not earned this benefit of the doubt. What I don't like is the strong possibility of reversing a regular season result, but if there had been 8 team playoff with these two teams seeded 1 and 2 I seriously doubt the final game would be any different.

Did they play runner-up UGA? No.
Did they play 11-2 S Carolina? No.
They beat Arkansas, then padded their stats against a heap of mediocrity.
