I would have expected a slight ratings drop anyway with moving the BCS from a broadcast to a cable channel. However, the abysmal ratings that this set of bowls drew reflects more on the matchups that were created, rather than who carried them, in my IMO.

Besides, that above wasn't really the score, it was the line from Vegas, pre-season.

They were probably just confused. Pretty sure the ESPN handbook says the higher score goes to the SEC team...having two SEC teams they didn't know who to give it to.

Perhaps this is an indication that people are simply fed up with the BCS farce. Playoffs. Now.

Or maybe they're fed up with a game played on a work night, by two teams from ES time zone, but with the start time set back 2 hours to appeal to the PC time zone -- appealing to an audience that a) doesn't have a dog in the fight b) doesn't care that much about college football in the first place.

BCS needs to realize that the NFL owns TV after Jan 1. I don't care for the pro game compared to the college game, but the folks who watch TV sure prefer the pros.

The Haters of the SEC is why. Other conferences are just to the point they are jealous, hateful, and will not watch a Real Conference win National Titles on a consistent basis.

I guess that means most of the country doesn't like the SEC. Wow, that's a surprise. Six National Championships in a row. I'm really shocked someone from the Pac 12 or the Big 10 or one of the other underachieving conferences wouldn't like SEC style football in college. Yeah, that SHOCKS the heck out of me. The SEC is Big Boy football. We don't play flag football in the SEC. We leave that for the Oregons and the Oklahoma States of the college football world. They can't hang with the SEC. Get over it.

If you like real football it's SEC. Alabama back to back to back what is better if you live in the state of Alabama, I'm in Mississippi and I feel the pride here.

we don't care if the rest of the country didn't watch, it chaps their rear end because of the SEC superiority when it come to football teams. Their great and mighty "big" ten is 10-0 in bowl games against the SEC, so let them watch what they want, who gives a hoot? If they'd watch some quality football, maybe they could learn something.

Most of the negative posts here reflect what has become one of our country's biggest issues. Jealousy and what I call the "participation trophy" mentality.

If you love football (not just SEC or any other conference) then you watched the game and appreciated great defense.

If you had "sand in your vajayjay" over who was playing, as selected by the BCS rules that every Div1a FBS conference team agreed to, then you probably pouted in the corner with your thumb in you mouth.
