It is much better than a win/win IMHO: WVU gets exposed, by extension the Big East gets exposed, and we get a universally disrespected title.

As little as you and I care about the disrespect that would come with the title; you don't have to listen to the OSU players for very long before you realize that they are motivated by the current national disrespect for them. They would be highly motivated by derision for their title. If there is a better way to keep a National Championship team hungry, by all means let Jim Tressel know.

Man, you hit the nail on the head. In fact, the more the Bucks are disrespected, the better I like it. That's the way they win. Last year, why did they think they couldn't be beaten? Because they were told they couldn't be all season long.

I hope that next season is more of the same from Kirk, Trev, Lee, Chris, Brent, etc., etc, etc. That only makes good things happen for the Buckeyes--oh, excuse me--Luckeyes!! :slappy:

Remember, if we should get in and win, that's the nice thing about crystal footballs; no disclaimers.

OSU?s new best friend could be Oklahoma

Sitting at third in the Bowl Championship Series standings, Ohio State has two chances to get to the BCS national title game.
One of those chances is named Oklahoma. The other is Pittsburgh.
Either a win by Oklahoma against top-ranked Missouri in the Big 12 championship game or a Pittsburgh win over No. 2 West Virginia on Saturday night will send Ohio State to New Orleans on Jan. 7 to play for the football national title for a second consecutive season, barring poll fraud or Supreme Court intervention.
With West Virginia (10-1) favored by nearly four touchdowns over Pittsburgh (4-7), most OSU fans are pinning their hopes on Oklahoma (10-2) repeating a regular-season victory over Missouri (11-1) and putting the Buckeyes on the plane to New Orleans.

some funny

Dennis Dodd thinks LSU could jump Ohio State in the final bcs (Because some guy who runs a 3rd party BCS clone site says so)

Dodds and Ends - CBSSports.com

That guy's reasoning is that LSU could surpass OSU in the computers. That may be true, but there is no way that LSU will get close enough to OSU in the human polls (which count 2/3, let's not forget) for the computer polls to matter.

That's what happens when west-coasters eat chili.

Do west-coasters eat chili? I thought they only ate tofu at their "save the whales" protests?

One of the funniest things about the whole 2003 thing was the BCS did exactly what it was designed to do. There were 3 1-loss teams and the two most worthy, by the formula jointly agreed upon before the season, were picked. But since the mighty all-knowing media's favorite USC was the one rejected, the BCS had the be worng and was ripped. I heard one AP voter on one of the ESPN radio shows say he wasn't going to watch LSU/OU and was turning in his final AP ballot after the USC/scUM game. I don't think there was a single member of the media to even question if maybe the BCS had it right. I mean it took a lot for the consensus #1 in the polls to be jumped by 2 teams, there was clearly reason to doubt USC. Yet no one even considered that maybe the voters were the ones that were wrong.

Voters wrong? You aren't allowed to criticize the media.

As for changes to the formula next year. I believe a speed factor will be added. All SEC teams will have their score multiplied by 1000 to properly represent the advantage southern speed gives them. USC's score will be calculated by adding .01 to the highest non-USC score. Big ten teams, except Illinois; they now have speed because their coach used to be in the SEC, will have a speed penalty of -100 added to their score. This should result in the proper championship pairing of the best SEC team vs USC for the foreseeable future while keeping unworthy slow Big 10 teams out of the way.

I didn't think of the speed factor. Good call.

yep

to put this stupidity to rest

According To The Current BCS Standings
Ohio State Is 423 points ahead of LSU in the Harris Poll And 249 points ahead of LSU in the coaches poll. do you really think LSU can make up those points from voters in one week?

as far as the computers go right now Ohio State is ahead of LSU in every computer poll, and it looks like there is only one computer poll which LSU could jump Ohio State in if they beat tennessee, so whatever happens Ohio State would still be ahead of LSU in computer average (Which right now is Ohio State .910 (3rd) and LSU .790 (7th)

SEC fan boys can make it happen if they choose. I mean, losing two games in OT is like being undefeated, right? LSU should still be #1 for Jeebus sake.
