I'd just as soon not have UC build a recruiting base in OUR state, thanks. If they go to the Orange Bowl, they might actually build some momentum as a program.
I'm sorry, but I highly doubt that Cincinnati every truly becomes a recruiting powerhouse in Ohio for football. At least not while Tressel is here. Dan Kelly might be gone just as quick as Dantonio was.

Your Right i agree its definitly possible for the big 12 champ to lose before the game...Ok to TxTech or Ok State, Misouri to K State, or Kansas to Iowa State, and go on to wini the b12 champ game...that would basically eliminate all b12 teams from the picture....So we would need 3 of the 4 teams to lose 1 more (big 12 champ, Oregon, West Virginia, and LSU..) I think the only way Oregon gets left out is if Kansas wins out, they'd most likely put Kansas vs. LSU...and we'd play oregon...my question is, If LSU, Oklahoma, and Oregon all win out, I assume we'd play a 1 loss Arizona State team over anyone, but if AZ State Loses to USC, do you think we would play USC in the Rose Bowl? The Rose Bowl would have first pick at who they want to replace Oregon, so do you think they would want the huge matchup of Ohio State vs. 3 Oklahoma who got left out of the big game? Or do you think they would do anything to put a second BCS Pac 10 team and have the big 10 pac 10 matchup?

I would be very happy with the opportunity to play a 1 loss Oregon or a 1 loss Oklahoma tema in the Rose bowl, we'd get to prove ourself just as much as the teams in the N Champ. game in my opinion, they would be 2 bowl games on par with each other.
The Big12 champ is contractually obligated to go to the Fiesta if not selected for the NC game, so the Rose wouldn't get to choose Oklahoma.

what if...

Assuming Ohio State wins and goes to the Rose...

If Arizona State gets beat by USC, and Georgia and LSU win out (with LSU beating TN in the SEC championship)

LSU would go to the national championship with Oregon.

Can the Rose Bowl pick Georgia as the at Large team or is the NON National championship Sugar Bowl obligated to take Georgia and put them up against the terrible Big East or ACC representative.

Ohio State and Georgia in the Rose Bowl would be really cool but seriously doubt this can happen.

The Sugar Bowl isn't obligated to take anyone but the SEC champ. However, if LSU wins out and stays #1, the Sugar bowl gets the first choice of a replacement. Hard to imagine they wouldn't take Georgia.

:osu: I want to believe that we can get back to the championship, but in reality, don't think it will happen. No way does Oregon lose, and I'm fairly certain that LSU won't either. But with a strong finish(2 more wins) we can still contend for second.

If we fall no lower than 8th in the BCS Ohio State is NOT out of the National Championship picture.

LSU: @Ole Miss, Arkansas, SEC Championship
Oregon: @Arizona, @UCLA, Oregon State
Kansas: Iowa State, Missouri, BIG 12 Champsionship
Oklahoma: @Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, BIG 12 Championship
Missouri: @Kansas State, @Kansas, BIG 12 Championship
West Virginia: @Cincinnati, U Conn, Pitt
Arizona State: USC, Arizona

Our regular season may end next week but there is still a lot of football to be played. Every team but Kansas needs just one more loss to drop below Ohio State and I don't see any of them as world-beaters. In what may be one of the wackiest years ever in college football - why not?

Get focused - Beat Michigan - Wait.

Face it... it's over. You will crush Michigan no problem, but we will see you in the Capital One Bowl and give you a chance to avenge your lopsided losses in basketball and football.

Nuff respect, but better luck next year!

Nope - Rose Bowl will have a crappy PAC 10 team as always...

How do you figure a Big Ten Champion Ohio State (since you think OSU will crush Michigan) will be playing in the Capital One bowl and not the BCS (Rose Bowl)?
