BCS predictions/discussion/Knock Em' Off

Oregon is only getting upset if Dixon gets hurt, otherwise, they are rollin'

I could see Cincy maybe getting the upset, but they will have to play some defense.

Red Raiders over the Sooners? I expect Sooners to try to run it up.

Iowa State stands no chance.

LSU could happen actually, they play a pretty careless game and could wind up making a few mistakes and letting it be close, have to see, they are back in #1, so we'll see how they react to that.

K-State, I think, is the most realistic, they are friggin' pesky and pull off upsets when you don't expect it. If I had to guess one upset in this list this would be it.

Mock BCS shakedown:

Title Game: LSU vs. Oregon
Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Arizona State
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia
Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma vs. Virginia
Fiesta Bowl: Kansas vs. Georgia

Selection order: Sugar, Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar

Rationale: Used the highly scientific method of handing the conference championships to the teams currently ranked highest in the BCS standings, not any actual predictions. Conference champs using that method are Ohio State, Kansas, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

Sugar Bowl gets first selection because they lose LSU to the title game and take the highest ranked team not already going somewhere - Oklahoma. It's close so fans will travel well. Rose picks second for the same reason and takes ASU to get the Big Ten/Pac-10 together. Orange has top rotating pick. Big East champ isn't tied to a bowl, and the Orange would love this regional matchup from teams located in the East. Fiesta takes highest remaining eligible team, UGA. At this point, two teams from the Big 12, SEC, and Pac-10 are taken, so Missouri, USC, Florida, and Texas are SOL. Only remaining eligible team is UVA.

There's plenty of ball left to be played and the final matchups won't look anything like this, but it's fun to play what-if-the-season-ended-today.

I actually starting thinking about this whilst the last seconds were ticking down on the clock when I was standing in the shoe. It's a shame to see our team lose a heart breaker, but it was worse losing at home. I still have faith in our team, and even if we don't go the NC game, but beat scUM, we are playing in the rose bowl. Not so bad. Especially many thought this would be a down year. I'm just proud of where we're at right now, and I can't wait to see what happens in the coming weeks, and next year.

GO BUCKEYES!!

This is what really sucks about the BCS. Sitting around and hoping teams lose so you can back into the championship game. Hell, I'd almost rather have the good old days. tOSU vs Oregon with NC implications on the line... that would be special. Kansas vs Oregon in the MNC game? :sleep1:

Not sure how probable this scenario is, but we could a 1 loss LSU vs 1 loss OK in the MNC game and 1 loss Oregon vs 1 loss tOSU in the Rose. Would the AP break ranks again for the winner of the Rose?

Oregon is going to win out and go to the NC game.
All the other teams above us could definitley lose another game and drop to 2-losses, or in KU's case, one loss.
The problem is going to be with the Big 12 teams. somehow, Mizzou has to lose their game this week, then whoever wins the Kansas - Mizzou game needs to beat OK in the CCG.

Go UC!
Go whoever plays LSU in the SEC CG!

Ditto.

The only problem is that Georgia could end up playing LSU in the SEC CG, and if they beat them, they could possibly jump tOSU in the polls, as they are right behind the Buckeyes.

That would be very interesting to see! A rematch of the 2003 National Championship game and a rematch of the 1957 National Championship!

The BCS is as close as we will ever get to solving the problem in this mythical championship. And thats all it is - its "Mythical" Its all about money and college presidents will never go for a process of elimination method of dubbing a true national championship. Another thing to think about - the NFL use alot of saturdays to get thier season finished and out of the way so that they can get ready for the playoffs in thier league. So with that said we are just have to be satisfied with what we have and hope for the best someday.

This is rough! This was from the sportsline players of the game.

That explains why we couldn't tackle him. We didn't know what he looked like.
