The biggest arm on a QB I have ever seen was Russel, he was just a freak. RP's arm is truly in that class. I think Tebow's deliver looks a bit weird like Vince Young, but he does have a very strong arm.

Ryan Mallett's arm is in Russell's class, but it doesn't mean he's a very good QB right now.

Well go watch the SEC championship game, RP has the intangibles. He hung in the pocket and took some big hits while delivering the ball. He will be very good if he can keep his off-the-field business inline.

You gotta like your bowl game though. How often do your two favorite teams get to kick the shit out of Michigan in the same year?

well obviously I am amped by that.

Could only be better if UF beat scUM, and if Les was going to UM after an OSU beating in the Championship game.

But I'll take just a OSU National Title and a LLLLLLoyd thrashing.

Perriloux doesn't really scare me as an option threat. The games I've watched he tried to stretch it out sideline-to-sideline when running it and that just won't work with the speed of our defense.
Yea, I wouldn't worry about him, after all it's not like he has played against any GOOD defenses, plus he can't throw the ball worth a darn. :-)

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but I think it is. I never said anything about his ability as a passer, nor did I question the defenses he played. I merely said that he doesn't scare me as an option threat because he tends to stretch it out sideline-to-sideline which won't work against our defense, and didn't work agaisnt Tennessee when he tried to stretch it out.

Title game in New Orleans
Rejuvenated city awaits OSU fans

New Orleans' historic French Quarter was spared the worst of the flooding from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Eclectic shops line the neighborhood's streets, which are within walking distance of many of the city's major hotels.

If you go

NEW ORLEANS

After Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, many questioned whether this city, founded in 1718, would survive to see another Mardi Gras.
Although pockets of the city are still hurting badly, other neighborhoods, especially those popular with tourists, have come back, maybe better than ever.
GETTING THERE

New Orleans is about 900 road miles from Columbus. There are no regularly scheduled nonstop flights from Port Columbus to Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, although many airlines offer connecting flights.
Many local travel agencies are selling Bowl Championship Game packages that include nonstop charter flights to the title game. Visit Dispatch.com/travel for a listing of travel packages.
Skybus also has flights into Gulfport, Miss., about 74 miles from New Orleans.
LEARNING MORE

  • The New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau offers travel guides, maps, itinerary ideas and much more. Call 1-800-672-6124 or visit www.neworleanscvb.com.

NEW ORLEANS -- There's no sadder sight than a hotel mini-bar in the French Quarter.
Fortunately, Buckeye fans who follow the team to the Bowl Championship Series title game Jan. 7 probably won't be spending much time in their rooms. In New Orleans, where the good times are rolling again, no one should.
The city is back on its feet after Hurricane Katrina -- the storm that devastated it in 2005 -- and is eager to welcome back visitors, said Mary Beth Romig, a spokeswoman for the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.

No. 1 Buckeyes relish underdog role

By Glenn Guilbeau
[email protected]

BATON ROUGE ? That barking you hear is from the Ohio State Buckeyes. For they are embracing the role of underdog for their BCS national championship game on Jan. 7 against LSU.

"We understand we're going to be huge underdogs," linebacker James Laurinaitis said last week. "We know LSU is a great team."

Not many gave Florida a chance to beat No. 1 Ohio State in the BCS national championship game last season. The Buckeyes were No. 1 most of the season. Florida got into the title game through the back door and heard throughout December how lucky it was and didn't belong. Ohio State was an eight-point favorite.

Florida won 41-14, and Ohio State has not heard the end of it since.

"Last year we did get complacent," Laurinaitis said. "We felt we were invincible. We have a lot of guys on this team that know what it takes to get it done. We're not looking at last year at all. It's over with. This is a great opportunity for us."

LSU: A charmed team? Well, yeah. You might say that.
Not every team goes 5-for-5 on fourth-down conversions (the Tigers did that against Florida). Not every team disdains a very makeable winning field-goal attempt and goes for broke to the end zone, flirting with the possibility of the clock expiring (the Tigers did that against Auburn, scoring when the clock read 0:01).

To recap: LSU's two defeats at the hands of two teams with 9 losses between them show just how dominant and poised for a NC they are.

Our schedule contained 8 teams going to bowl games, including Va Tech going to a BCS bowl who we soundly beat 48 - 7.

Can you say that?

Um Virginia Tech was severly undersized compared to LSU.At least On Offense.I also believe it was a point in time when no one had a bluprint to that LSU defense.
