Game Thread BCS National Championship Game: tOSU 24, LSU 38 (final)

Well, it does solve the problem of having the SEC fans bitch about getting closed out and It stops the question of "what if" they'd had to play the real (read SEC) #2. It's definitely a road game for us... that makes 2 for the top 2 teams in the conference.

LSU will be tough and their fans, in the Super Dome, will make it even tougher, but the Bucks know what they need to do.

But what a rape job on some deserving teams to make it all fit. My sympathy to Mizoo fans.

And to Tennessee fans, sure paid a huge dividend to get into the SEC championship game didn't it.

We've got a whole lot of players right now itching for January to get here. The only better opponent for us would have been Florida, these kids are going to be fired up at a chance to avenge last year's loss to an SEC team. LSU's butter-soft rush defense is going to meet the best back it's seen not named Darren McFadden. And unlike Kentucky and Arkansas, this Buckeye team has a defense to go with it.

I'm pumped, let's go!

I would caution against using those last few LSU games as a true indicator of how "soft" their defense is. With a completely healthy Dorsey(if the knee can indeed heal in that time) its a different animal.

Question for the LSU fans: other than Flynn coming back and Dorsey healing up, are there any other impact players for LSU that will be getting healthy over the long break until the game?

For tOSU, Lawrence Wilson(DE) and Ross Homan(LB) would be a couple of players that might be returning to action.

Well, the short list starts with the receiving corps (Doucet who has been gimpy this season), a couple of running backs (Keiland Williams, Trindon Holliday).

I wouldn't say the rush defense is 'Buttersoft', yes good backs have run against us but no more than any other school. Dareen McFadden is an absolute beast, especially when healthy, and I'm sure you guys know all about option running attacks.
But I'd like to point out is on any given game, we can field three completely different offenses as well as a defense that at its worst is still semi-competent.

Aside from Gholston, how's the OSU DL?

Just out of curiosity, is Tressel an offensive guy/defensive guy or a player manager kind of guy?
