OSU will have first jersey choice. The whites worked well in Arizona until last year. Do they change it up and go with the scarlets? I say yes...

Try a bunch of "don't tell us what we can do BS"

Fellating Gator fans is unbecoming of a Buckeye, doncha think?
:sad2:

On the plus side, you are certainly a quick learner.:slappy:

Basically, I've given these folks the respect that they deserve over a period of time. As is normally the case, some of that is returned. I'm happy to continue to discuss anything football related (ok, anything:biggrin:). Others are too. But you can't expect to get acceptance when you're making a weak argument just because you have "Buckeye" in your screenname.

These folks are a hell of a lot more discerning than that....tough crowd, as it were.

Incredible.

You disagree with my assertions and then devalue my reputation.
Actually I offered a direct rebuttal, which you chose to duck entirely.
So much for being a forum to express differing opinions.
Then perhaps you should have chosen actual debate, instead of this. Last I checked OSU did back in, so that was a pretty harmless joke by ubet, and a funny play on words.

When someone makes a foolish comment, I may call them on that (and possibly leave private reputation comments), whether they be buckeye, gator, or open discussion rambler. When that is used to flame & bait a civil poster, I'm even more inclined to chime in.
I guess if one doesn't tow-the-line or agenda of the moderator, you get devalued.
Nice.
Reputation is left all the time, both positive and negative. If you aren't fond of that system, you may turn off your reputation.

What does my status as a graphic forum moderator have to do with anything, besides a copout?

Maintaining quality conversation, and not childish banter, is becoming of BP.

you know those Douchebags at ESPN were calling JT all night to get an interview and he didn't even pick up the phone. He just sat in his barcalounger breaking down Michigan film for the big game on 11/22/08

That is the truth. I am glad that the Buckeye's actually have pride. This year it was Les Miles who whined, last year it was Urban Meyer. Buckeyes need to go down to New Orleans and play strong defense. LSU's offense can be stopped, we have seen it the past few weeks. This is the Buckeye's chance to shut everyone up. Now we come in this game ranked #1 but the next 30 days or so will be all about how Ohio State won't have a chance. Quite a turn around from last year, so let the critics give us all the more reason to show them that they have no idea what they are talking about. I am so sick and tired of hearing so much about every other team in the BCS except Ohio State. This year, we need to gain some credit back. Go Bucks!

This is going to be a hell of a game. I think that Tressel will have the team ready this year, after the disaster in Glendale, and LSU is always going to be an extremely difficult opponent.

But damn, #1 and #2 lose on the last night of the pre-bowl college season.....Funny how things work out.

Aside from Gholston, how's the OSU DL?

Just out of curiosity, is Tressel an offensive guy/defensive guy or a player manager kind of guy?

The DL has been overachieving, for the most part. We rotate a lot of guys on the line. At the beginning of the season, the line suffered a rash of injuries. Lawrence Wilson was supposed be the guy but broke his leg in the first game of the season. Remote chance he might be back. True freshman Cameron Heyward (son of the late Craig "Ironhead" Heyward) has taken over for Wilson and has been a huge surprise and difference maker. Plays well beyond his years. Dexter Larimore is a RS-freshman who has really come through at the tackle position.

Tressel's philosophy is based on the minimizing mistakes, and as such will run the type of offense which best suits his players' abilities and level of experience. If he can trust his QB to get the job done, he'll let him sling it all over the field like we did a couple times this year and all of last year. If the team commits turnovers and makes mistakes, he'll go back to pounding the ball away on the ground. Tressel doesn't run a "system" per se. He runs what he thinks is best for the personnel he's got that year, and as such will change the offense to play to those strengths.

And as for uniforms, I say we wear the road whites so we force LSU to put on those gay purple jerseys.

I feel the same way about May. At one point today he had Oklahoma as his favorite, later he had LSU. Herbie, Holtz and Corso both supported the Bucks. May hates Ohio State maybe even more since his Panthers helped put us in the NC game. Mark will be eating crow again just wait.

I wouldn't say the rush defense is 'Buttersoft', yes good backs have run against us but no more than any other school. Dareen McFadden is an absolute beast, especially when healthy, and I'm sure you guys know all about option running attacks.
But I'd like to point out is on any given game, we can field three completely different offenses as well as a defense that at its worst is still semi-competent.

To follow-up on rocketman's reply, Tressel is more of an offensive guy. Our Offensive Coordinator is Jim Bollman, but it's Tressel that does all of the offensive playcalling. Tressel was a QB in his playing days, and his forte is coaching QBs. Despite the fact that Tressel's best teams have had a reputation for great defense, Tressel leaves most of that to the experts he has on staff. Jim Heacock is our Defensive Coordinator, and I think many here will agree that he is one of the best kept secrets in college football.

This is why you never pick the Buckeyes to lose a game. Back to the championship. We need to show every SEC turd what Big 10 Football is all about. Conference PRIDE. GO BUCKS.

I know this is extremely out there, but am I the only man who thinks it (won) or done for Jim Heacock?
