Baylor Bears (official thread)

About face: Baylor AD plans to beef up non-conference schedules after all

SMU, Lamar, Rice, Northwestern State, Liberty, UTSA, Duke, Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word, and Lousiana Tech. That’s the full list. The names of schools you just read comprise the entirety of Baylor’s non-conference schedule through 2020. The entire thing. This isn’t the filler in between home-and-homes with Penn State or neutral site games with North Carolina and Oregon – that’s it.

No matter how many times athletics director Ian McCaw and head coach Art Briles denied it, that schedule – this year’s slate included SMU, Northwestern State and Buffalo – and the stigma surrounding it were the reason Baylor played in last season’s Cotton Bowl and not the Sugar Bowl. Trade the road game at Buffalo for a trip to Boston College and the Bears are probably the last team in the inaugural College Football Playoff, not eventual champion Ohio State.

I'm really hoping that Baylor winds up on the bubble and gets left out again. I may actually die from laughter when Art's head explodes when he finds out.
Baylor beats their first 4-5 opponents by about 300 combined...then loses at home October 17 to West Virginia, again...then runs the table, only to realize they are still going to get left out with one loss to WVU and no CCG for the second year in a row. First reporter asks Briles about how OSU lost a home game last year and won the NC....hilarity ensues

I can sympathize with the non-traditional powers like Boise St, TCU, and Baylor feeling like they're being passed over.

Until the twat coaches, presidents, and fans open their mouths.

I would feel that way with respect to boise, since they've at least nutted up and tried to play a few power schools non-conference. TCU has handled things will class and tries to stray out of conference. baylor can lick an ass. next time, don't go and get cunt punched by the #3 team in the big 10 then whine about being passed over for the #1 team in the big 10.

Would be great, but there's no way the B12 gets left out unless their champ is clearly out of the running, say 2+ losses and ranked 8th or below in the polls. If their champ is on the bubble, they'll be last one in.

Art Briles: “If Baylor or TCU had an older brand name, one of us would have got in the @CFBPlayoff

:tibor:

The football transitive property using "new math":

Baylor lost to Michigan State, who lost to Oregon, who lost to Ohio State in the national championship game, therefore Baylor should have got into the CFB playoffs.
Last I remember Baylor was losing to the no 2 big ten team. A team that was handedly beat by two of the playoff teams. I don't mind the tcu fans complaining (and they don't much) but art briles needs to f'ing win his games.

Do they even teach logic, math, or science in Waco?
Chistian science obviously doesn't apply.
