Baylor Bears (official thread)

Well, Texas is due for their five year run of relevance any generation now . Then the B12 will be respected.

I don't think it's going to happen.
Ironically their greed has created a situation where the in-State competition is a dry well. They thought they'd choke the BXII to death and reign supreme... instead, it's TCU and Baylor reaping the rewards of the implosion.
How long do you think Strong lasts until they run him out of town b/c they need a M̶i̶c̶h̶i̶g̶a̶n̶ Texas Man?

Strong is on a special hot seat at Texas. There are plenty there who just won't tolerate a black coach at the state school.
Meanwhile Baylor and A&M are loading up. And the state is getting poached of top recruits.

The Big 12 fanbase whines about TCU getting screwed and believe that TCU could have some how duplicated what we did.
That's just plain old delusional.
What else is new?
Agreed. Takes two things to take down Bama. First you need to equal their talent. No one has a higher recruiting record in last 4 years, so they are hard to out-talent. Then once you are even on talent you need to out-coach and out-scheme them. It took both to beat Bama, surprisingly it only took more talent to be Oregon, they just don't recruit/coach well outside of the skill positions. Patterson can out coach Bama, no doubt in my mind, but I'll go back to Cowherd in December saying that Ohio State has way more NFL players and TCU and Baylor combined. Both Bama and Oregon would have just ground them into submission.

Just watched the cotton bowl again. Damn what a good game. I love the announcers saying things like how 'Baylor thought they were going to get in but they didn't and briles isn't going to complain because the cotton bowl is where every texas kid wants to play.' Almost crying laughing when MSU is driving for the last time and you can see the look on his face; you can tell he's thinking 'I shouldn't even be here. This isn't my fault.' Briles doing the dantonio scowl is great.

That was the most cathartic non-OSU game I have ever seen.

I'd rather fucking see Baylor make it.
Agreed. In the long run Baylor is not going to continue beating Texas and Oklahoma on a regular basis and therefore they're no more dangerous than say Boise State. But Notre Dame getting in the playoffs wakes up echos and the East Coast media machine starts to crank out Grantland Rice prose about four horsemen and cold gray skies.

Also as much as a weepy bitch as Briles is, he has yet to kill anyone.
