Baylor Bears (official thread)

Not as awesome as TCU, but they're all virgins saving themselves for Jesus...

Given what the system did for RGIII and Bryce Petty, I'm not convinced this makes that big a difference. Besides, now they're going to Jarrett Stidham, a kid that learned the system over four years of high school since he went through the program Briles built at Stephenville HS (the same one that produced Branndon Stewart, Kevin Kolb, and Jevan Snead as preps).

And it's not like any Big XII defenses have magically gotten better with this news.

Trying to find the Baylor-K. State game and instinctively turned to ESecPN. Woman reporter (Shelley Smith?) was giving her expert (:slappy:) opinion on all things college football and how Baylor fits in the CFP picture. She said something about their "so-called" weak schedule.

Baylor held to 10 points in the second half, win 31-24 at Kansas State. Their freshman QB threw for 400+ yards and is legit...
Yes, but Kansas state is really, really bad. They'll lose at least 1 game. Maybe a couple. Their next 3 games, particularly tcu and Oklahoma, are going to have not only a better defense, but also a better offense to require more stress on their QB needing to score at an even higher clip.

I'm honestly not surprised that the QB was able to step in and make things look seamless. That's mostly a product of the system. I'd still heavily favor a team like OSU or LSU in a matchup given how much K-State abused the Baylor D on the ground and held Baylor down in rushing O.

System or not, the kid looked good. That said, I agree that KSU is not good at all (they came in on a 4-game losing streak) and a team with a good OL and a good DL will pound Baylor pretty good...
