Art Briles says Baylor couldn’t find a travel partner to go down under
There have been various rumors regarding a possible college football game to be played in Australia, and for a while Baylor was connected to the discussion. Looking to find ways to boost the overall strength of schedule, Baylor flirted with the idea of playing another power conference opponent in a neutral setting, which led to setting its sights on a possible game abroad in Australia. In July, Baylor was reportedly no longer involved in the discussion, with Cal of the Pac-12 being the supposed travel partner.

They really couldn't find an FCS school willing to take a huge paycheck?
I mean they haven't had problems getting FCS schools to go to their stadium for a big paycheck...
and you may not have to pay them as much to go to Australia as you have to pay them to come to Texas

It's not a lot different than the Buckeye situation: games against teams that can raise national attention are fading because in Baylor's case, Texas, Oklahoma, and now TCU have not lived up to their normal billing, just as the Buckeyes are faced with a fading Va Tech, Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan.
