Art Briles says Baylor couldn’t find a travel partner to go down under

There have been various rumors regarding a possible college football game to be played in Australia, and for a while Baylor was connected to the discussion. Looking to find ways to boost the overall strength of schedule, Baylor flirted with the idea of playing another power conference opponent in a neutral setting, which led to setting its sights on a possible game abroad in Australia. In July, Baylor was reportedly no longer involved in the discussion, with Cal of the Pac-12 being the supposed travel partner.

They really couldn't find an FCS school willing to take a huge paycheck?
I mean they haven't had problems getting FCS schools to go to their stadium for a big paycheck...

1. I'd like to see how they'd do against the All Blacks even if the kiwis only had a week or two to pick up the US game.
2. It's not a lot different than the Buckeye situation: games against teams that can raise national attention are fading because in Baylor's case, Texas, Oklahoma, and now TCU have not lived up to their normal billing, just as the Buckeyes are faced with a fading Va Tech, Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan.

You get an idea of how #1 would go down under from International Rules Football against Ireland (both teams play different sports and learn the rules for the hodgepodge game in weeks). The 2015 edition is played in a week fwiw....
