Art Briles: Baylor not distracted by Sam Ukwuachu controversy

In his first public comments on Sam Ukwuachu in 10 days,Baylor coach Art Briles said Monday his team has not been distracted by the swirling controversy.

"Honestly, I haven't felt anything," Briles said. "The thing about youth that keeps me going is they're so resilient, first and foremost, and forgiving, nonjudgmental.

Exclusive: Baylor rape victim hires noted Title IX attorney

The Baylor sexual assault victim and her family have retained prominent Title IX attorney John Clune of Colorado to “investigate a number of issues surrounding the case,” The Dallas Morning News has learned.

Baylor football player Sam Ukwuachu, a transfer from Boise State, was convicted last week of sexually assaulting a former female athlete at the school, in September 2013. The Dallas Morning News does not identify victims of sexual assault and their families without their consent.

Clune confirmed his involvement in a brief telephone conversation this morning. He offered a prepared statement.

“We are glad to see that President Starr and Baylor have chosen to conduct their own investigation and look forward to learning the outcome of that process,” Clune said in a statement released by his firm, Hutchinson Black and Cook, LLC of Boulder.

“Regardless of what facts these investigations may bare, there is a significant teachable moment here for all in higher education and we are hopeful that Baylor University embraces that great opportunity.”

Clune said the family also has contacted well-known Waco attorney Bill Johnston to assist in the investigation.

Cont'd ...

Same attorney hired by the girl at FSU
((later in the process when she decided to file suit against FSU. Initially, when it broke, I believe she was being represented by a relative.))

Hey guys its been a couple weeks... lets check in on Baylor

yep status quo... Art doesn't know whats going on. Guess his assistant wandered up to the OU-Tulsa game and got sideline passes... amazing.

What a crock.

"Erm...uh...he's actually at a DIS-advantage being there, which I ABSOLUTELY didn't know about, because he didn't have as good of a view. I mean, him being there (did I mention I TOTALLY didn't know about it?) definitely keeps him from watching game film. And there's NO way he could have heard calls or seen any play sheets. Just there as a spectator. Yeah, that's the ticket."

A goddamned joke.
