Baylor Bears (official thread)

So kind of like the Penn St. Joe Pa cult without the coaching there for 40 years

Personally, I thought Jimbo was the annointed one...

I thought the Bushes were tied to aggy.

Not that I'm aware of. HW went to Yale and settled in Midland after the war, Barbara went to Smith College. W went to Yale and Harvard, and Laura went to SMU and UT.

After HW relocated to Houston he became close friends with Astros owner Drayton McLane, who financed Baylors stadium with funds from the sale of the Astros. Reagan appointed Ken Starr as a district judge and HW appointed him his Solicitor General.

I mean in retirement. I think both put their libraries at aggy and the public affairs school at aggy is named for HW. W I can see fitting right in at aggy, but HW?

Exclusive: Baylor rape victim hires noted Title IX attorney

The Baylor sexual assault victim and her family have retained prominent Title IX attorney John Clune of Colorado to “investigate a number of issues surrounding the case,” The Dallas Morning News has learned.

Baylor football player Sam Ukwuachu, a transfer from Boise State, was convicted last week of sexually assaulting a former female athlete at the school, in September 2013. The Dallas Morning News does not identify victims of sexual assault and their families without their consent.

Clune confirmed his involvement in a brief telephone conversation this morning. He offered a prepared statement.

“We are glad to see that President Starr and Baylor have chosen to conduct their own investigation and look forward to learning the outcome of that process,” Clune said in a statement released by his firm, Hutchinson Black and Cook, LLC of Boulder.

“Regardless of what facts these investigations may bare, there is a significant teachable moment here for all in higher education and we are hopeful that Baylor University embraces that great opportunity.”

Clune said the family also has contacted well-known Waco attorney Bill Johnston to assist in the investigation.
