Old Dominion's QB threw for 730 yards last week. Wanna give him the Heisman? After all, it doesn't matter who he did it against, does it?
Old Dominion's QB threw it 28 more times than Geno Smith did today and had 3 less touchdowns. None of his Heisman competitors have had or more than likely will have comparable games...against anyone. Against Hawaii's 115th ranked pass efficiency defense, Matt Barkley had 13 less attempts, half as many yards, and half as many TDs. Feel free to bump the shit out of this thread when he throws for 800 yards and 12 TDs against Colorado.

In 4 games he's thrown for 1,728 yards, 20 TDs, and 0 INTs while completing 83% of his passes. Ignoring how ridiculous that is is being purposely obtuse.

Eh, he's alright.

The three point shooting in this game was incredible. Baylor makes their free throws and it's a different game...

Has a team ever kicked 21 field goals before and lost?

The NCAA passing records are littered with names like Case Keenum, Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Kevin Kolb, Dan LeFevour & Graham Harrell.

Gaudy passing numbers against brain dead competition aren't the end all be all of Heisman worthiness.

One hell of an entertaining game.

Just like last year's Alamo Bowl as well. Both defenses never came out of the locker room at kickoff.

Let's see Geno Smith torch a team with an actual D before we annoint him the next coming. Because as far as I can tell, he's the next coming of this guy:

BTW - you can have this memento of Andre Ware if you go to the ebay link and purchase it for $350.00. WTF?!?

Stats, in this case, are overrated. Especially when 2 out of the 4 teams he's played are the worst defenses in Div 1 (Baylor, 117th going into the game and Marshall, 124th), a FCS team, and a middle of the road D in Maryland.

Sick that he threw 8, yes. But they only won by a td. They'd better hope he throws for over 500 per game, because if not....

Geno has "blown up" Marshall, James Madison, and Maryland before one of the worst defenses in college football - Baylor - came to town.

He's "doing his job", so good for him. But pardon me if his gaudy stats against crap defenses don't compel me to hand him the Heisman in September. I need to see what he can do against a defense with a pulse, but that may not happen in the Big XII.
Who is handing him the Heisman? I don't have a vote. Do you? Nope.

he threw for 463 yds against a pretty good LSU defense last year.

that's more yards than we gave up to any other team in total offense last year.

If anyone has another Heisman favorite right now, I'd love to hear who it is.

Hell, might as well throw the Baylor QB into the mix, based on the arguments in favor of Geno Smith right now. He probably threw for the second highest yardage this last Saturday, and like Smith had a 300+ yard receiver in his game.

Oh yeah, he played against an absolutely [Mark May]ty defense too!

Braxton checks in at #2-4 on many Heisman lists in September, and he has primarily turned in half or quarter games of excellence against some lousy competition. This week was the exception, though he had some touch moments.

Geno is the only elite performer so far, albeit against dreadful competition. The defense in this game rivals most pee wee leagues.

Maybe this is the year that they get over their braindead obsession with voting for the QB/RB of the most dominant team.

Leveon playing for a dreadful offense should enhance his resume. Ask Monte Ball about playing on a stacked offense.

if they actually vote for most outstanding player instead of a back on the easiest team to win with, perhaps Teo can beat the odds
