B1G CCG: Sparty +9.5 vs Wisconsin (ov/un 57.5) Sat 8 ET, Fox

I was at the game in EL, and home field up there is nothing to brag about. Ya they went nuts at the end, but very shitty when they "shouldve" been loud. Sparty dont travel all that well. Look for the stadium to mostly red. Sparty has beatin them twice in a row now when they shouldnt have. Hope its a good game.

Oh ya, FUCK BUCKY

Go Sparty!

Sorry bucky32

It's all good.

Actually, it sounds like MSU has bought up a lot of the tickets. Expect to see a lot of green on Saturday night.

Thats funny you say that. The radio stations have been giving away 4 tickets 2 nights hotel and a $100 Meijer card packages left and right!

people aren't going on a pre bowl vacation because of the town.

the small percentage that might consider it in a bigger destination town would likely be part of the larger group that don't want to sit outside in the cold.

the problem is the teams.

get Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio state & Penn state involved, especially with top ten teams, and that stadium will be full in Indy.

I prefer Chicago for the character of the stadium. the colts do not epitomize the tradition and stereotypes of the B1G. the bears do.

On top of that, the fact that Ball is barely getting mentioned in the Heisman race is ridiculous. He's got a chance to break Sanders' TD record. Many people thought that was untouchable. I know the main argument is that he plays on a team that has 2 losses, but if he doesn't at least get an invite to New York it'll be a travesty.

Completely agree on Ball not getting enough Heisman talk. Scoring the second-most TDs in major college history is a damn meaningful stat, plus he has more rushing yards and half a yard more per carry than Richardson.

However, he really won't catch Barry Sanders TD record unless he gets 10 more TDs in the last 2 games. Sanders scored 39 in the regular season, and had 222 yards and 5 TDs in the bowl game that aren't part of his NCAA totals. The stupid NCAA needs to include bowl game totals in individual records for the players that set those marks before the last 10 years or so, when they started adding bowl numbers into the season totals.

There is absolutely NO WAY it was going to be beneficial to the B10, college football in general, tOSU in particular, or anyone with a less-than-iron stomach, to see Ped State in the first Big Ten Championship Game. Do you seriously think that would have been desirable as the inaugural event for the conference, and as the enduring legacy...to be reminded of the abuse of children every single time the history of that game was discussed in the future?

I was referring to the ideal, what th B1G envisioned when they planned this.

And with regards to the "blew their wad" I meant with regards to Heisman candidacy. Wilson was the only one of the two with a real shot, and as soon as Spratt knocked them off he was done. Not saying I agree, just saying that's how it seems. So lets relax a bit.

Part of the problem is the university put all of their Heisman effort behind Wilson's Heisman campaign. Ball came on much too late to have a realistic shot at it.

I don't know about "worst-case scenario". I still believe it's due to the location.

Nope. Money's the issue.

Doesn't make me any less of a fan however.

That was tongue in cheek and not directed at your fandom. There's no questioning the fandom of someone from an opposing team spending thier time on this board and contributing as you do.

The point that I was trying to make is that we're all sitting here typing away and it's Saturday afternoon... The drive isn't that far from Madison and I'm sure that there are thousands who have the means to make the trip who make the choice to not attend... and the same point can be directed at the Sparties. My neighbor is MSU alum and he's not going either. Believe you me, if tOSU is in that game and I'm in the Chicagoland area (and it's not much a stretch to include Madison in that) my ass is in a seat.

Again, not jab at you... just a jab at the indifference.

And I have to disagree... while it may be partially due to location, the final four games hosted in Indy would suggest that it isn't all that bad. And the fact that they are begging for people to serve as fillers puts this game on the level below HS football playoffs in Ohio. This is _the_ worst case scenario for B1G. If the stadium looks like Ford Field did last night for the MAC CG I'll be really sad.
