B1G CCG: Nebraska -2.5 vs Wiscy at Indy (ov/un 48.5) Sat 8:15 Fox

We took our foot off the pedal. Wiscy didn't (because they rememberd the last time you two played)

Yeah...that sounds like a good excuse.
I'd have gone with: Ohio State scored more points per quarter on Nebraska since the Buckeye offense didn't actually get to the stadium until well after the second quarter started. :wink2:

I brought up why I didn't like them. You brought up the tired argument where there's no winner

Reading is still fundamental. Try reading your post again. You whined that Osborne was given a gift in 1997. I showed you where you were wrong, and you started bitching.

The 1997 national title was split, so arguing about who really was deserving is moot. But just for shits and grins:

Nebraska outscored opponents 47-16. In their bowl game, they clown stomped the Tennessee team that would win the national title the next year.
Michigan outscored opponents 27-10. In their bowl game, they squeeked by a flash-in-the-pan Washington State team that beat up on a very weak PAC-10.

The Big Ten was a much better conference than the Big 12 in 1997, though. Besides Nebraska and Kansas State, there was not much going on in the central plains that year.

Teams ranked in the top 25 at the end of the season (AP)

1. Michigan
12. Ohio St.
15. Purdue
16. Penn St.

2. Nebraska
8. Kansas St.
20. Texas A&M
23. Missouri
24. Oklahoma St.

Nobody else in the Big 12 even got any votes, while Wisconsin, Sparty and Iowa all received votes in the final AP poll.

Hush, this is all about how QBs performed in the NFL.

Therefore Griese > Bellisari err Frost.

BTW it's foolish to underestimate the '97 WSU DL. Bender & Boose were legit.

So we had five teams ranked in the final 25, three of whom Nebraska beat. The Big Ten had only three other ranked teams, only two of whom Michigan beat.

Sagarin says Nebraska's 1997 SOS was slightly lower than Michigan's, 74.37 to 75.96. Sagarin ranked Nebraska #1 at the end of 1997. He had Michigan at #4.

Listen...

I was at a place called Sempek's Bowling on Saturday (Wife had a holiday get together we had to attend).

This place has the obvious bowling alleys. But it also has something else that I could not escape until I left that place....

A BAZILLION TV screens. And all were tuned to that trainwreck some called a game, others called a debacle.

I am so sick and tired of the Huskers getting beat by 40 points when they lose. I am sick and tired of the lack of apparent answers the at-one-time-defensive-guru head coach gives at these pressers. I'm tired of a lack of disipline on the field and the sidelines. I'm tired of Personal fouls, false starts and sideline warnings.

I'm tired of the swiss cheese defense. I'm tired of the reporters having to ask the same question about handing out Blackshirts.

I'm just damned tired. Period. Is it so hard to ask for a team that is consistent?!? Who doesn't turn the ball over at least 2 times a game? Who muffs a punt in every OTHER game?!?

I've had it. And I plan to write the new AD about it.

70 points. 70. You won't see another B1G championship game under Pelini. Hope you enjoyed this one. Of course, judging by the attendance, I doubt anyone noticed.

With this kind of logic, (enjoying the victories by other teams in your league that your team couldn't achieve), you really should be an SEC fan.
