Ridiculously big signatures?

Can we make it to where signatures are disabled for newcomers?

I wouldn't do that because many of them will just assume the sigs to not exist...and therefore will not get the chance to admire them

I have dial-up at home and the signatures doubled and tripled my load time.

You poor soul....

The other thing some should realize is that newcomers aren't going to have signatures disabled. Really tall, and really large signatures are a bit annoying at times, especially the former.

I admit, I get annoyed by my own signature sometimes. On both of my home computers, I have my screen resolution set to 1024x768, and I don't think it looks too bad at that resolution. Maybe a little tall, but everything fits well within the width of the page. At work though, they're at 800x600, and when I start looking at stuff at work, I come across my own posts and go, "HOLY SHIT!"

Maybe we could do it so that a signature only shows up the first time a user posts in a thread. After that, the rest of that user's posts in a thread are sig-less.

I have to do it usergroup by usergroup. Started with registered users, going to get to others today.
