I just noticed that if you upload an avatar image bigger than the current 75x75 limit, instead of giving you an error, it'll shrink the image down until the biggest of either the width or height is 75 pixels or less. I uploaded a slightly bigger version of my Holmes avatar (133x100) and the editor shrank it to fit (75x56).

Yeah, it's smarter now.

I still need to increase the size. The problem I'm running into right now is I can only define a single max dimension. Meaning I either put '100' and that can be the max dimension for either/both height and/or width, and we can't have 150 wide. Or I put 150 and just ask people not to exceed 100 high.

Seems to me there must be a way to modify the code to fit my 150x100 needs, but I can't look at it yet. Rebuilding everything is taking WAY longer than I thought. Nothing from before is even remotely compatible, and right now I'm converting all the front page content.

I asked everyone when I started using this sig, if it would be a problem, if anyone had anything against it, etc. I did realize it was huge. Course once you see it, you should have it cached, hence from that point on it doesnt slow anything down.

I can always switch though, just say the word.

In regards to the Avatar, I would just go 100X100 or 125X125 max.

2.) Can prevent 1MB signature files like BrutusMaximus' Jessica Alba pole dance .gif (I've been tempted many times to tell him use another one)
Turn off the signatures. You can do it in the UserCP.I've had them turned off for the same reason.

I, and I'm sure others, have caching turned off in order to ensure I always get the most current version of a page...

I knew about that option, but to me, people's signatures add something to their character...if you start disabling all the options, the site loses a lot of its flavor.

I turned it off b/c some of them were R-rated and here at school that doesn't work. Like the one that used to say "Got Milk" with the chick in a pink bikini. Also, I have dial-up at home and the signatures doubled and tripled my load time.

The other thing some should realize is that newcomers aren't going to have signatures disabled. Really tall, and really large signatures are a bit annoying at times, especially the former.

Can we make it to where signatures are disabled for newcomers?
