Aundrey Walker (Southern Cal Signee)

Does USC have any scholarship reductions for this class?

I suppose this has been discussed elswhere, but a class of 30 seems like classic oversigning. USC also had six OL signees.

Given the numbers game, any reason to think Walker could end up staying in Ohio?

USC had no scholarship reductions for this class--by appealing the scholarship reduction very close to NLOID, USC effectively postponed any reduction until next year.

USC also had 8 early enrollees that counted against last year's class, so by NCAA rules, they only signed 22 on this year's class. It's not classic oversigning at all--what they did was within NCAA scholarship rules.

Now, I will admit that I really dislike USC. I despise USC. However, I will also admit that I admire the ingenuity by which they used the rules and appeal process to their advantage in this case.

If the Buckeyes had done the same, I would have thought it extremely clever, and would be defending it to the end.

Further proof of why the NCAA is a joke, so are they actually being punished? Not going to a bowl game or two? Well they are locking down ESPNU150 players at a high rate and are still looking at long term success.

USC's schollie numbers have been discussed at length in Lane Kiffin's thread, and in the oversigning thread. There's no need to continue that discussion here.

To give credit where due

Herbie stated yesterday in pre-game.. that USC could be in serious trouble.. without their starting center.. and that hit the nail on the head.. Stanford destroyed that rookie center.. which caused the entire line to falter

He could not handle any type of speed rush. Not sure he should be a tackle after that performance.

I don't know about that, six months ago he was talked about at right tackle. I think he is much better suited there. I'm Still upset about his recruitment(:pirate1:). This being the recruiting board, I feel extremely limited in expressing myself.
