Per terms of his contract, Harsin will be owed $15.5 million in buyout money with 50 percent ($7.75 million) due within 30 days and the remaining 50 percent ($7.75) in four installments.
Two years ago, the school decided to pay a $21.7 million buyout in order to fire Gus Malzahn, who had gone 68-34 in eight seasons.

WOW, that's ($21.7M + $15.5M =) $37.2M they are paying to coaches for not coaching.

Bo Pelini?
How great would it be if they got James Franklin? I mean, terrible choice for Auburn, which might make it great, but then Penn State losing their coach (even if he isn't very popular at the moment) to another college team would just be another kick in the shins to them.
Bret Beilema?
Ha Ha - Brian Ferentz?
Mike Hart?

They'd go get Matt Rhule and be better for it. No thank you.
