Atlantic Coast Conference (Official Thread)

Just sayin': For a Power 4 Conference with an automatic spot in the CFPs some of those ACC teams have a real "powder puff" schedule compared to most teams in the B1G and SEC.

McCord should have a really good year for 'Cuse.

Don't the students have to go to class???
just kidding

As a college football fan, I'm sure I'll tune in for many of these mediocre match-ups.
That leaves Tues and Wed for the Mountain West or MAC or Big12.

ACC disintegration predicted if FSU, Clemson, UNC, and UVA leave conference: 'ACCXIT'

The "ACCXIT," the term longtime college football radio host Greg Swaim coined for the disintegration of the ACC, will be upon us should FSU, Clemson, UNC, and UVA all decide to leave the conference as is being forecasted by most.

"A reminder that as soon as FSU, Clemson, UNC, and UVA exit the ACC it's all over for the conference," Swaim prefaced before saying, "We're calling it the and you'd better have a safe landing spot, as it's going to be rough!"

Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

A Tallahassee judge has ordered Florida State and the Atlantic Coast Conference to enter mediation in hopes of settling a high-profile lawsuit that could dramatically impact the future of the league.

Judge John C. Cooper technically approved the ACC's motion to dismiss Monday but gave FSU seven days to amend its complaint because the university needs more specificity regarding key facts in a case he said "is worth up to half a billion dollars." The conference would have 20 days to respond afterward, and another hearing would be set.

"The case is not over," Cooper said. "The case will continue."

Cooper ordered the sides to begin mediation within 120 days. But a mediator cannot force an agreement, so the case could end up back in court.

"I send every case to mediation except mortgage foreclosures," Cooper said. "This is not being done any differently."

The Seminoles are pushing to exit the ACC and explore a more lucrative landing spot, potentially the Big Ten Conference.

As an ACC graduate (UVA Law) I can tell you that the Thursday night games were the biggest in-person draws of the season. Of course, that was 20+ years ago, when the match ups were more compelling.
