I bet most of the people who have bad impressions of Ohio State fans get that impression when coming to this site and reading your little "community" of posts and how pompous and completely arrogant you all are.

That should be for you guys... I mean heck I was the inspiration for this thread because I don't agree that Matta is the best coach in the whole wide world. I simply posted my point, you guys are the one's who cried your eyes out because I hurt your feelings about Matta.
Having been around and watched people post on this site longer than you, and also being somewhat familiar with Steve19's character on this site, I can assure you that your stupid little wrong rant about Matta was only a small (if any) cause of this thread.
You act like this is UCLA or Kentucky or Syracuse. Ohio State's basketball program is immensely blessed to have a coach of Matta's caliber here and not going anywhere even in light of the great amount of success he had.
You're acting like some spoiled Syracuse fan that wanted Boeheim fired before FatMelo won that championship for him. You don't fire or otherwise remove once in a lifetime coaches unless your hand is forced. Matta will thankfully coach at Ohio State as long as he wants too. If you don't like that or the fact that virtually no one of consequence in the world outside of Buckeye Planet (not to mention 99.5% of the members of BP) disagree with you vehemently, too fucking bad.
Go bandwagon somewhere else if you can't appreciate what you've got with Matta.
And Phoenix is a little warm in July. You made an over the top statement, then spent the rest of the time denying, deflecting, and playing the victim. If you will make reasonable statements and give your opinions backed up with facts, you'll be able to engage in reasonable dialogue on this site. Make ridiculous statements and act like a twit, you'll continue to be treated accordingly.I restated yesterday many times that perhaps some adjustments with assistants would work as well to getting better development out of the guys. I admitted I was a little reactionary in my original post about Matta after our loss to Dayton. I do not feel that this team of JR's and SR's should have taken a step back. I expected better this year than that. I expected better then playing to our opponents level and not having a shooter outside. I expected better than Amir Williams being the same as he was last season.
I still think Matta is overrated, but as I stated yesterday he isn't going to go anywhere. I don't care who agrees with me really. I know he is overrated and either he will right the ship and start producing a little better, or we will be stuck where we are and people will start to tire of decent OSU teams who can't get far in the tourney like this years team.
On that note. I am done with my part in littering this thread with the same argument over and over. This is the last time I am addressing it, basketball season is over anyhow so my focus is futher more going to be on the exciting upcoming football season and our quest for a national championship again.

Because Matta is overrated. It's plain and simple. Like how Doc Rivers only won a ring thanks to his all-star cast in Boston. How Erik Spolstra has won anything simply bc of his star cast. Matta is similar in that he gets fanstastic talent based on his awesome recruiting, but when it comes to developing that talent and getting the most out of his guys, or adjusting in game, he is overrated. I say it now, I will say it tomorrow, I said it last week. Sure you are going to have some success with recruiting like that, but if we want to get over the hump and win a ring, something needs to be done to start developing these guys. A team with SR Craft, SR Smith, Juniors LQ, Sam Thompson, Shannon Scott, Tre Mac, and Amir Williams, SHOULD NOT have been so bad.
There are far too many OSU fans who think their beloved coach or so and so could never be wrong. They won't listen to outside perspectives bc they are so far up so and so's butt they don't want to listen. Just as a lot of OSU fans were over JIM BOLLMAN for a long long time.
I don't know why I am bothering since it's clear your little merry band of brothers don't like to hear opinions that disagree with you all and your mighty faction. Or as you call it your "community".
I'm not going to start another massive debate in this thread though so I well end my rant now.

TL;DR... If you want to kick the dog, take it to the Reds thread. My man, listen, no one on this site caught more hell than I did for criticizing Bollman and Tressel well before it was ok to do so. I understand where you are coming from even if I don't necessarily agree with your opinion of Matta.
Take it for whatever you think it's worth but one of the big lessons I learned from all that was even though time proved me somewhat correct in my theories, my communication style was belligerent as hell so people responded in the same manner. Pouring gas on flame only ends one way. It was completely unproductive and did nothing to really help foster any kind of constructive debate/conversations and therefore didn't really help BP.
Matta is human and therefore imperfect, there are things he can do better but you need to understand that everyone who disagrees with you is not some myopic fan boy who thinks no OSU coach can ever do wrong.
If the community were that bat[Mark May] crazy, insular and into idol worship this place would be called Nittany Lion Planet.
So if you want to stick around and be part of BP, which I would highly recommend btw, then chill out a bit understand the other side without thinking they are all fucking idiots (only some are) maybe get a banner and your in like Flyn. Hell you can even be a non donating, scUM loving drama queen troll fuckstick and be allowed to stay around here. You just can't introduce yourself by throwing haymakers and expect a warm friendly response.
