Wisconsin will always be higher than normal... it has the second highest gas tax in the US. Most are at 2.99 for regular here but I did see a station at 2.91 yesterday.

I still can't believe how your gas is cheaper down there...with all the word of gas being more expensive in the south...oh and $3.19 here

Yeah... when my wife came home I told her to go to the station that had it for 2.91 because that's the cheapest I've seen.... she said she went to station near Tampa and got it for 2.80. The owner was giving 5 cents off per gallon if you paid with cash instead of credit card.

no offence but that is cheap compared to what we are paying right now in Canada. For regular gas in most places we are paying $1.30 a litre. 1 US gallon is about 3.79 litres which if my math is correct means canadians are paying $4.92 per gallon for gas.

Schools down this way are considering a 4-day weekday because of the gas hikes...JV programs are being cancelled as well.

Our Superintendent said she was told to expect a break in mid-week, but I am not holding my breath.

That's really sad when oil prices are forcing us to make schools second-rate. If that becomes a trend across the nation we're gonna be seeing some serious uprisings and I'll be leading the charge

I really find it interesting how the media is showing all this outrage over the looting going on in New Orleans but nobody mentions the real criminals which are the oil and gas companies which are making a unreal amount of money off a tragedy.

All of our Distircit fieldtrips are cancelled for now...the band has already paid over $6K in competition fees that they cannot recover.

Sad state of affairs...I hate it for the kids

It sure is. I just heard word that Circleville City schools, due to many failed levies and the oil prices are about to go to split scheduling...no extracurricular activities and music, arts, and gym anymore. I feel so bad for them...
