Okay i've got 1 question...I know nothing about guitars so keep that in mind. I want to start playing and I dont know which handed guitar I need. I want to strike the strings with my left hand and choose the notes with my right. So which handed guitar do I need?

I can play a little guitar...and the ONLY way I would ever buy a guitar on eBay is ONLY if I played the guitar I wanted in person and liked the sound/feel/etc...

But still...I'd make sure the online seller was a good one. I have never bought a guitar on eBay, but I have looked for ones.

Still can't beat the feeling though of playing one at a guitar store and walking out with it that same day :biggrin:

I'll second that, Princess. These pretzels are making me thirsty.
This thread is making me want to learn guitar. The only problem is that
I'm left handed and left handed guitar players look no where near as
cool as righties. :)

Nah, I always thought lefties were cool. (For the record, by the way, Golfer, I am not left handed, though I like to think I'm at least somewhat left hand coordinated, or at the very least, not left hand retarded.)

Golfer does have a point, though. If you've never played, why not learn right handed? It's such a different activity than anything else anyway, that I don't know that it would be much more difficult. The biggest disadvantage I see to playing left handed is that it would be a rare occasion when you could pick up someone else's guitar and play.
