Music Man John Petrucci signature.. fucking incredible guitar that I've dreamed of and I can't pass up the opportunity to buy it.

Buddy of mine just got one... says it plays like a fucking dream.

This just got delivered today:

41PFOjNESoL.jpg

Oscar Schmidt Delta King semi-hollow.

Thing sounds great for a cheap guitar ($250 for the color, black is $160). Great twang for rockabilly, and really nice crunch like a LP for rock/metal. Think I found my everyday guitar.

Snapped some photos of my electric guitars a few days ago.. figured I might as well share the family photo at least. :)

Hey guys, Ive got a question for some of you who have been playing for a while. Are there any good online or print lesson plans out there? I have been playing for a few years, and Im basically self taught. I can play a little though and really enjoy it. I pick my guitar up every day, but I know that my mechanics are horrendous and I figure that its probably hampering my progression greatly. Basically, I need to learn how to practice properly, un-learn all of my bad habits, and get the most out of when I pick my instrument up. The problem is, I work nights, all the time, so I can't just go take lessons easily, so I am looking for other options. Also, I can't spend a fortune as I just bought a house and am really trying not to overextend myself financially. Any advice would be appreciated so thanks in advance. Incidentally, I an Alvarez acoustic(don't know the Model), a Dean Performer E acoustic/electric and a pretty cheap Squier strat(vintage modified HSS).

You might check out truefire.com Lots of lessons on line there. I know they have one on technique as well.

Numby - that's a nice lookin fleet. I especially like the coloration on the strat.

I did something pretty cool the other day. Been wanting to learn how to play Baritone guitar (read that Pat Smear plays one on Wasting Light) and so I got my pitch detuner to drop my tuning to B (not open B, standard tuning but with E = B) Sounds fuckin wicked.

Gotta relearn a LOT of songs now tho. To play an E chord, you fret an A. To play an A, you fret a D. Play a G and you're getting a D. Takes a little getting used to.

Just ordered one of these. Could only get the tobacco sunburst for the 160.00. Red was 227. Both had free shipping. Let me know how yours was adjusted out of the box.

That Strat is gorgeous.. one of the nicest I've seen. It's half the reason I bought it. Other half is how it played, of course. It's the only guitar in the picture that didn't get the color sucked out of it by the camera. The JPX almost looks black, and it's clearly dark purple in-person.
