According to Bruce Hooley who was just interviewed on espn news, "Ohio State fans who support Andy Geiger are just drinking the kool-aid"
If Hooley wouldn't ask stupid ass questions at every press conference, only to get shot down by Geiger, he probably wouldn't feel that way.

Best of luck to Andy Geiger. He is and always will be one of my FAVORITE figures in Ohio State Athletics History. I will refrain from mentioning my feeling towards media figures because quite frankly they don't deserve to be in the same discussion as a class act like AG.

Thanks for everything Andy, you'll not soon be forgotten.

I would also like to chime in and express my sadness to see Geiger retiring under these conditions. I used to think Geiger was arrogant, as some have charged, until I met him in the spring of 2002 when he came to speak in one of my Higher Education Administration classes. He was a very impressive...I was especially impressed by his thorough knowledge of multiple intelligence theory. I was also impressed by his ability to answer idiotic questions from some of my classmates with class and in a way that did not insult them even though they deserved it.

At the end of the class session, he invited us to call his office if we ever wanted information regarding the athletic programs at OSU. He was a real class act.
What the Hell grad, all this time you could have been calling and getting us all inside information and you don't share this with us until after He retires. What the hell is your problem?

How is a guy who works for a "Cleveland" paper an expert on a coach in "Columbus?"

You figure they'd call Tim May.

Hooley is too busy worrying about tooting his own horn to be taken seriously.

end of june he is leaving and staying around as an advisor after that...

and i hate to say this.....but i am getting vibes that more shit is going to hit the fan soon in regards to football.....but no verification yet....i have several major media people trying to find out more for us....

at this point it is simply rumor.....

This wouldn't be a surprise at all. Why else would he leave? I doubt it has to do with the fact that Mark May make his wife cry.

I agree w/Steve19 and Bucknut44... on their substantive comments.

AG has done a tremendous job for Ohio State. I think he's the best AD we have ever had. It will be quite interesting to hear AG's comments after the NCAA investigation is complete. If he is found to be consistent in his historic statements I don't think espee'n will ever see our campus again...unless they come in helmets and flak vests.

Alan, this was completely unnecessary and inappropriate and I am disappointed that you would post it.

Are we supposed to be moved to think badly about Andy Geiger because one of these fine journalists thinks he got his on a man who wouldn't cow-tow to them or sit back and quietly accept their obscene untruths?

Please tell your very, very, very important (and, of course, not at all very, very, very arrogant) national sports reporter to sell disgusting somewhere else.

I am simply amazed that these people can get out of bed in the morning and look at themselves. But then, I suppose, prostitutes of all kinds do.

To hell with the media and especially with ESPiN.

Thank you Andy Geiger for all that you have done for The Ohio State University! When you go, it will be a very hard act to follow.

I read Alan's reference to this sportswriter's email to mean that Geiger is perceived as arrogant by the national media, and that for that reason, they might form opinions about his administration based on their perceptions of Geiger. I read it as an explanation, not a rush to any kind of judgement.

Is that your intent, Alan?

I just hope that Geiger stepping down slows the assualt that is being levied against our university.
If AG was truly as disliked by ignorant members of the media as it may seem, then hopefully they will back off once the NCAA clears us.

Why cant we just play football!?!?!?!?!?!?

BTW, its 7:00 and scUM still sucks!
