I don't know, but wakeboarderdave knows the developers page that do a lot of modding.

Do you like the phone? Are you going to keep it?

It got a lot of tough reviews in contrast to the hardware, which isn't surprising given Samsung's lackluster history with smartphones.

I like the phone compared to the blackberry touch, minus bbm though. Mostly because apps are new to me.

I got it last week based on the Verizon guys raving reviews, and bashing of the droid x.

I don't like not having flash... and might look into switching to an incredible so I can have it.

2.2 with flash is coming to the Galaxy S phones. How soon, I don't know. I love the screen on the Captivate/Fascinate/Epic; simply brilliant. But not a big fan of the Samsung UI. The menu is too similar to the iPhone for me, and the cartoon-y buttons on the home screen aren't my style. But I do like that Samsung has a built in App manager/killer. The hummingbird processor (Samsung) has a built in graphics chip which helps it handle gaming and graphics better than the snapdragon (HTC).

^^^

What he said...
Froyo should be coming in the next 60-90 days across all carriers, naturally since I'm on AT&T we'll be dead friggin' last.

If your main wish is flash videos, you can make do with SkyFire most times.

I use ADW.Launcher, or LauncherPro Plus, depending on the mood I'm in. Can't stand Samsung TouchWiz...
And yeah, the Hummingbird with the SGX540 GPU absolutely KICKS ass. NFS:Shift ROCKS on the Galaxy S!

Can't wait for the tablet in a month or two

Any of you with an AT&T Captivate, AT&T/Samsung have released an update.
Go to Settings-> Software Update and initaite a check.

Tmo Vibrant shouldn't be far behind... This (supposedly) fixes GPS issues, speeds up media scanning, and a couple other things.

What was he bashing about the x? I know I got the x and love it so far. Battery life is the only thing that sucks on it at times.

He was telling me that he had to trade it in several times because of problems, didn't get specific.

Some of the X's do have little quirks with no real reasons why. My guess would be app interaction with the OS. I came from the Incredible to the X and I love it. If I was a guessing man I would say that the X was out of stock, that usually leads to bashing from the sales reps.

If anyone is looking for an alternate keyboard I would check out the HTC_IME mod. They even have site where you can create themes for the keyboad. I created a tOSU themed one where the spacebar has the schools logo. You can also upload your own logos, backgrounds, symbols, etc.

Looks like a pretty limited keyboard there, dawg.

Well, little did I know that ORD's comment about the Garminphone not syncing Outlook contacts was a generic Android problem. Apparently this is a common complaint by Android adapters.

This is the stupidest oversight I have yet seen by a "smart" company (Google). My new Samsung Fascinate is a spectacular device, EXCEPT FOR THIS LACK OF CAPABILITY! I too may end up trading back to a BlackBerry or Windows7 device.

You can export your contacts from outlook to a .csv file and then import them to the Gmail account you're using on the Fascinate.

Actually, you can export vcards (.vcf) directly to the memory card in the device, which is a lot simpler. Just no "sync" per se.
