.. you never know when they might have the opportunity to eff up your life.

So anyway-- I get home from 'work' yesterday and there's a piece of paper stuck to my mailbox...

A little slip of paper with a business card folded inside... The card belonged to

"John Doe" (Named changed)
Special Agent
Federal Bureau of Investigation
etc

And the piece of paper around it said something to the effect:

"This is a notice from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that we are attempting to contact you in relation to a background check for a federal employee or to gain access to national security information" and it went on to tell you how to go about contacting them.

Of course... my eyes went right to "gain access to National Security information" and my first thought was, "Great... Clarity put Ex-Wolverine over the edge with the 'Drama Queen' thing and the guy threatened to kill John Kerry just to show us he was serious.. and somehow they tracked me down to ask questions about this subversive behavior."

Anyway... so I call the field office to make sure the guy is legit... then I call the Agent, and it turns out they are doing some random interviews in regard to hiring (for who knows what job) one of my neighbors... I actually have never talked to the guy in my life (he lives a few doors down) so I told the Agent that I really couldn't make any kind of comment as to his character...

But I could have said... "yeah... well that mother could mow his ratty assed yard a little more often and not let his damn dog out and let it bark at 8am on Sunday morning when I'm trying to sleeep off a hangover.... "

So there you go... be nice to your neighbors.

i wouldve said he doesnt bother most people because he is always in that lead coated anthrax lab in his garage.

Actually--- my thought was to say (Even though I don't imagine it was actually for an FBI postion): "Real nice guy, would fit in great in your organization in that 'J. Edgar Hoover' kind of way... if you know what I mean... right down to the fish net stockings."

I got a visit one day from an FBI agent. It was shortly after 9/11 so I'm thinking what the heck does this guy want... what did I do?!?!?!? He was doing a backround check on a former employee of mine that was going to be working on Nuclear subs. Nice guy but just freaked me out wondering why he was there.

Some friends have used us a references and we've been asked the same questions by the FBI... guess the fighter pilots in the airforce and navy get checked out by the FBI, before they start to train them... makes sense seeing has how a wacko could cause some major damage in a fighter plane...

As I have mentioned I met a few FBI agents through the Technology Council. They are pretty normal guys besides the fact they carry a gun.

I guy I got my MBA with was trying to get a government level job that required a security clearance. He used me as reference. Funny thing was they called me at home but suggested we meet at my office. They insisted on showing their ID and badges. I cannot imagine them leaving a business card in a mailbox.

They did ask questions about drug use and whether I knew if the applicant was or had associated with terrorists. I do not think the guy got the job.

Well... tell my subconscious... that's really what I thought...

It might have been the 15th or 16th thing I thought... but I really did think it.

It made me laugh when I thought it....

And then it made me laugh again because I thought how funny it would be when I posted that on the Planet today...

Then I laughed when I posted it because I thought... 'Boy its going to be funny when Ex-Wolverine sees this...'

I was right.

Betcha can't guess what I'm doing now?
