All Big 10 teams announced

How is he 1st team by default? And Juice played like shit up until the Minnesota game.

Not a slam on Boeckman...more just a realization that Big Ten QB play was, in the aggregate, mediocre at best.

- Henne was decent at times, but very erratic and hurt most of the year.
- Curtis Painter...meh.
- Juice was splitting time most of the year but by the end of the year was playing great. Just ask us and Northwestern.
- Brian Hoyer, Tyler Donovan, Adam Weber, CJ Bacher and Kellen Lewis all played OK but most were inconsistent. I'd say Lewis was the best of that bunch for the year.
- Morelli was awful and deserved nada. Watching the decisions he made against Sparty affirmed the fact that Penn State could have purple/gray/red/magenta/aqua-shirted him, giving him a 15th year of eligibility and he still would be awful.

Boeckman was the most consistent and best QB of the bunch...but he didn't have much competition.

And Juice was playing lights out at the end of the year.

Just because Juice tore you guys apart doesn't mean he was very good on the year. His backup played a lot because of his performance.

No he didnt have a great year when you look at it for the whole year...but he did QB the team from 2-10 a year ago to 9-3 this year, and he was probably playing the best QB (specific to his offense) in the Big Ten by year's end.

I realize I am looking solely at the past few weeks and that Eddie Magee (his backup) played a ton...but that mess was sorted out 2/3's into the season.

Then again, they did lose to Iowa. Never mind, Juice sucks.

Still not seeing how it was by default. He was the best. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter what his competition was like.

And Juice's last 3 games don't make up for 9 terrible ones.

Agree on Juice, I admitted as much - I was basing it on how he was balling at season's end, not what he looked like earlier this year.

W/R/T Boeckman, I think he was the best QB in the league...but I am acknowledging that there wasn't a plethora of viable QBs - like say last year when you had Troy Smith, Henne playing much better, Drew Stanton (who was inconsistent, but entering last year was highly regarded), Drew Tate (see Stanton), Jon Stocco, and Bryan Cupito.

I guess I felt like last year's QB play was stronger than it was this year...take nothing away from Boeckman...

Agreed. I just thought it was a poor choice of words. Todd was the best of a lousy bunch but he was still the best.

Henne 1st team is laughable, if we're giving going away presents with the post season awards why isn't Lllllloyd coach of the year.

No Robo is surprising as well. I know Manningham had some big games late, but he didn't show up most of the year and was worthless in The Game.

Manningham didn't show up the rest of the year? News to me...

Appalachian State 3 catches, 66 yards, 0 TD (Mediocre)
Oregon 8 catches, 117 yards, 0 TD
Notre Dame 2 catches, 35 yards, 1 TD (we threw 15 times)
Penn State 6 catches, 61 yards, 0 TD (Mediocre)
NW 10 catches, 123 yards, 1 TD
EMU DNP
Purdue 8 catches, 147 yards, 2 TD
Illinois 9 catches, 109 yards, 2 TD
Minnesota 5 catches, 162 yards, 1 TD
Michigan State: 8 catches, 129 yards, 2 TD including the GW TD
Wisconsin: 3 catches, 113 yards, 2 TD
Ohio State: 5 catches, 34 yards, 0 TD, too many drops (brutal)

Robiskie did not have a 100 yard game since Washington, the third game of the season. And Manningham out-produced Robiskie in The Game, and outproduced him by 17 catches, over 200 yards and a touchdown over the course of the season.

Jamar Adams? He should be the last person sniffing any All Big Ten list. The king of the bad angle. Someone buy that kid a protractor.

I would literally take six OSU DB's before Adams.

And Henne? Is this a lifetime un-achievement award?

To get an idea of how much of a joke these awards can be become, check out this fact from the Dispatch:

No Ohio State coach has been awarded coach of the year since Earle Bruce in 1979.
