All Aboard The Bengals Bandwagon!

TWO WORDS: LEBRON JAMES

Who cares if he's only there 3 more years. Cincinnati only gets great players when they are past their prime (Ken Griffey Junior) or when they are compulsive losers, err... gamblers (Pete Rose).

Have fun on the bandwagon. It'll be funny to watch this Bengals team make the playofffs for the next 3 years, then have Chad Johnson bitch to Mike Brown about more $$$$ and take off without Cincy having won jackshit.

"I've been a Bengals fan my whole life." "I even liked them when they had David Klinger." - This is shit I expect to hear from bandwagon jumpers.

Real fans say things like... "screw all you bandwagoners. I suffered through 15 years of football futility and I deserve to have this team be good. You don't deserve shit."

Way to show your complete lack of understanding of sports.

First of all, it was a typo. Second of all, I can assure you that my understanding of sports is well beyond your capabilities.

Third, there isn't a question that there is major bandwagon jumpage here. Based on personal experience, and the unscientific numbers of Bengals' fans at sports bars on Sundays over the last 15 years til now, the effect of the Bengals winning is obvious. The increase started last year, and boomed this year. Heck, I'll even admit that many Browns' fans have disappeared on Sundays, probably because they are afraid to follow a team that sucks. Just like with the Indians in '95, Ohio fans flock to the winner. The fact that you are so defensive about the subject just shows me that you are embarrassed by your lack of support for the Bengals over the last decade and a half.

DUDE, CALM DOWN. GO START A BROWNS SUCK THREAD OR SOMETHING.
the sad thing is, browns fans have so much to discuss right now.
EXAMPLES:

-Who are we gonna take with the first overall pic in next years draft?
-Why is it that we ran bellicheck(?) out of town, yet welcome his coordinator with open arms?

these are just a couple off the top of my head.

According to the game announcers this past Sunday, the Bengals have averaged over 52,000 fans annually since 1990. That bandwagon must be as big as a luxury liner.
WHO DEY!!!
I'm awaiting your source of data.

I'm awaiting your source of data.

59,754 - Riverfront Stadium Capacity for football during the Dark Years - looks like you were missing around 8000 per game.

Compare your figures however, to that of Cleveland Browns Stadium. Capacity - 72,500, and last years average attendance of 73,000 with probably the second-worst team in football. I guess selling out every game with 20,000 more people and a comparably bad team to the Bengals of the 90s isn't very good data though.

Sources: http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/national/cinerg.htm

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/attendance?year=2002 - 2002: Cincinnati - 2nd worst attendance in the NFL to Arizona.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/attendance?year=2004 - 2004: Cleveland - Over 101% filled stadium and only 4 wins.

ok, but when was your last AFC Championship?

I don't find the hearbreak of losing 3 AFC championships to the Broncos really all that different from the heartbreak of losing to the Braves and Marlins in the World Series. So, I'm indifferent as to the Bengals' 2 AFC championships. It's like saying it's better to have been there and lost, then to not have been there at all. I wouldn't put it that way exactly.
