Aliens?!

Okay, somewhat misleading, but has anyone ever thought of the world we live in as just another small world compared to another universe?

I mean just think about an ant colony for example, they have their own society, their own way of communicating, a hierarchy of power. Maybe other universes just look at us as little ants.

Maybe the ants look at other species as "ants".

It's very difficult to put into words, so I hope I'm getting my point across.

This is how I picture the universe basically.

O O O O O O O .

Maybe we're just the...4th O. And that pattern just continues on and on, until we get to atom-sized particles. But what's saying that atoms don't have their own "universe" or society.

Hopefully someone can make sense of this better than me.

I think I know what you mean. I think most humans, at one time or another, have thought something similar.

Your ant analogy is used quite a bit when talking about extraterrestrial or extra-dimensional beings. The ant is chillin', doin her own thing, walkin' around, picking up food and doing ant stuff. Then she (most ants are female, you know) gets squished by someones boot. She didn't see it coming. She couldn't have seen it coming, and she couldn't have ever perceived the boot coming, or even conceptualized that she could potentially get killed by a huge boot coming down on her head..

So in that sense, perhaps we are "ants" in a bigger universe/dimension and therefore cannot rationalize what goes on in other universes/dimensions.

I watch my fair share of The History Channel and my biggest complaint with it is their obsession with aliens.

I mean, beyond just showing their UFO Hunters show, it seems they somehow tie in aliens to every single documentary and talk about how they're going to destroy our world. Bunch of B.S. I'm sure there are probably other lifeforms out there, but they go overboard with the "Aliens are attacking Earth every day" type of shows.

Sometimes I feel like we are the size of the O in the middle. But then again on most other days I feel we are really the size of the dot. I just don't know anymore man.

Religious dogma aside, the boundaries of the universe seem to keep expanding and it's only logical to assume there is lots of other life.
