Alex Rodriguez tested positive for roids' in 2003

Dickhead or not you have to include Pedro with Maddux in greatest pitcher conversations.

OK, I'm a dickhead, but with 355 wins compared to 214, I don't think I have to include Pedro in my conversation, even though he puts the ERA in the era.

Using one counting stat like wins to compare two players of varying career length and different teams makes the conversation moot. Let alone the fact one is still playing.

Pedro and Maddux should both get extra credit (as if either needs it) in the history books for doing what they did during the steroid era was my point.

I turned on Mike and Mike this morning on my way to work and they were still having "A-rod did steroids" chat. I got bored with it long ago so I switched the station. I was driving home tonight about 12 hours later, turned on ESPN radio and it was "A-Rod did steroids" chat.

I don't know what the hell there is to talk about in this story for days on end but hopefully they'll get it out of their system before March Madness rolls around. I can't wait until tomorrow morning when they interview A-Rod's third cousin's former cleaning lady to see how she feels about this story. :roll2:

I love Griffey, and I think he was clean, but if I was a bitter prick that didn't I would say he had a ton of hamstring injuries...Steroids 101. It's all or nothing. There's no way to know, so there's no way to separate.

I get the point you're trying to make, but let me say motherfuck that just for a second here.

Even hinting that Griff was juicing because he had unfortunate injuries later in his carreer is like saying that someone with a headache is obviously going through heroin withdrawls.

Bud Selig says Alex Rodriguez shamed the game - ESPN

Spare us the faux outrage, fucktard. If you had been a commissioner with anything that anyone could have even mistaken for a nutsack (hell, even if you had one small shriveled up one like the roid boys have) you would have done something a long time ago. Instead, you whored out what used to be America's game because yuo couldn't stop a strike and you couldn't keep baseball from falling behind hockey otherwise.

Fuck you, fuck your sadness, fuck your apology, fuck your feigned outrage, fuck what you've turned baseball into because you are an incompetent nutless assrocket, and go fuck yourself.

I think its great Selig has come out and said the players that tested positive have shamed the game.

I wonder when he says the executives who leaked steroid testing dates to the union in 2004 also shamed the game??

Sometime soon I'd imagine.

A-Rod Dead At 33 | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

NEW YORK?Baseball legend and mythical figure A-Rod, the New York Yankee third baseman and three-time American League Most Valuable Player, was declared dead Saturday after it was reported, and later confirmed, that the former Seattle Mariner and Texas Rangers All-Star tested positive for two anabolic steroids during the 2003 baseball season.

A-Rod was 33.

"A-Rod was a person, but a much better baseball player," a statement from the New York Yankees' front office read in part. "We only hope that members of the press will respect our wishes for privacy during this very difficult period. We can assure you that the Yankee organization is going to be haunted by A-Rod's passing for a very, very long time, or at least until his contract expires in 2017."

...

"I'm sure he's in a better place," Girardi continued. "Then again, probably not."

...

A-Rod is survived by 33-year-old Alexander Emmanuel Rodriguez, a divorced father of two who is currently in therapy and who, despite being in extremely good physical condition and possessing the ability to hit 500-foot home runs, has no future in baseball whatsoever.

I'm probably misinterpreting the sarcasm in your post. I wish Selig would man up and take some of the blame for what has happened to baseball.

Yes. Lots of sarcasm.

It is funny Selig has said these players shamed the game, yet, reportedly players were notified of steroid tests in 2004 after 104 guys tested positive in 2003.

Sounds like the Union and MLB wanted to play naive to steroids in the game. It was a win-win for both at the time. Now Selig acts like these guys have disgraced the game. What's worse.....testing positive for roids', or running a league where you know players are using, and trying to be willfully ignorant on the issue b/c attendance figures had never been higher?

I'll try and top it with a worse than example.

What's worse is floating the idea that you are going to retroactively punish A-Rod on the basis of leaked results (which you were meant to control) from a blind and secret set of tests from 2003.

Which is clearly hyprocritical after the agreement was no harm, no foul on those tests.

Then you compound the issue by coming out the next day to say "Oh, for shame - I wanna do this to A-Rod, but I really can't."

Now you've compounded Stupid with Hyprocritical.

As bad as A-Rod looks, Selig looks worse. He should damn well step down as Commissioner - no matter the ticket sales, no matter the TV revenues, and definitely because of the continuing conflict of interest, he should step down.

Fuck-Rod Wondering What Permutation Of His Name Will Be Used For Steroid Story

MIAMI?Alex "Fuck-Rod" Rodriguez, who has been given many unflattering nicknames by the press during the course of an eventful and turbulent career, found himself wondering what unflattering sobriquet he would be awarded for lying about his steroid use. "I really didn't like being called 'A-Fraud' by my teammates," Stupid-Goddamned-Son-of-a-Bitch-Rod told sources Wednesday. "That was hurtful, and reading it in Joe Torre's book was a real letdown." As of press time, Lying-Prick-Rod was unavailable for comment, as he was busy falsely accusing Sports Illustrated reporter Selena Roberts of trying to break into the Coral Gables mansion in which Complete-and-Total-Sack-of-Flaming-Fucking-Shit-with-Tiny-Shriveled-Balls-Rod currently resides.
