None of this changes the fact that OSU had a much better secondary, QB, WRs, OL play (the lone advantage that wasn't talent) or coaching or that Bama was severely lacking in some key areas, especially MLB and CB. The coaches could have prepared them better but frankly I'm not sure that the coaches could have overcome the press clippings, especially when the SEC hyperbole had been vindicated in the NC game so often recently, with 3 of them for Alabama. Ultimately their preparation was severely lacking and that comes down to leadership. Unlike GCash, I put that on the coaches first, second and much later on comes the blame for the players. Player leadership can transform how well the coaching works but the spoils and shame fall on the coaches.

As we have seen, you can be supremely talented but if your head isn't in the "right place" you can lose.
And a loss at the end of the season can effectively kill any shot you might have worked for all year.

It's the range of acceptance in the scores that tells the difference. For instance Alabama ACT range is 22-30. Ohio State ACT range is 27-31. Similar numbers for the SAT test. This disparity is born out when you look at graduation rates. Alabama has an overall graduation rate of 66% while Ohio State has an overall graduation rate of 83%. Draw your own conclusions.

This is a dramatic improvement from when I went to student orientation at Ohio State a long time ago and was told "Look at the people on your left and right. At the end of four years two of you will be gone".

this season they have a 9 member "committee" of members of the football team that was created by Nickie so that they would keep their minds on football this season… Like they were not thinking about it last season :lol:
