A 2 loss team has never gotten into the CFPs.
Just sayin': Alabama (like Ohio State controls it's own destiny); however, they better not lose another game, etc.
A 2 loss team has not gotten into the CFPs yet.
If Alabama ends up with two losses by virtue of losing a close game to an undefeated Georgia in the SEC championship, I think they could still get in over a one-loss Oklahoma/PAC-12/ACC champ, or an undefeated Cincinnati. Assuming Georgia and OSU were the 1 and 2 seeds in this scenario, we'd be looking at 5 teams (Alabama plus those four) and two slots. I think it would be hard not to put Alabama into one of those slots.
Minutia but they'd have to be put in at #3 in your scenario to avoid the 1v4 rematch with UGA.
I'd say a 1 loss OU, 1 loss Wake Forest, 1 loss Oregon all get left out for an undefeated UC. So then its 1. UGA 2. OSU 3. Bama 4. UC.
Problem for UC is Oregon in that scenario. A 1 loss Oregon who is a Pac 12 champ and has a win over B1G champ OSU is going to be difficult to leave out for a G6 team undefeated or not.
No way a one-loss Oregon will get in over an undefeated Cincinnati.I think if OSU and UC win out, everyone else loses one with Alabama's loss being a close game with Georgia, the playoffs will be 1. UGA, 2. OSU, 3. Alabama, and 4. Oregon. Oregon gets in over Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and UC for the reason you gave - they beat OSU.

The pitfalls of Bama fans being your target audience
This is why whenever Coach Saban decides to retire, I’m certain there will be a incremental decline, year over year for whomever his replacement is.
