Alabama 41, scum 14 (final)

And the SEC domination of the B1G continues...

Heard on the radio today and I agree, this was about Alabama and Michigan it has nothing to do with Vandebilt Ole Miss or Minnesota Iowa. I am weary of SEC vs Big 10 comparisons. tOSU will never win the SEC and Alabama will never win the Big 10. In a one game NC, anyone could win..if thats important to you.

After watching multiple games yesterday, including the vaunted SEC, I don't really know how good they are.

UM was flat out scared last night so I don't know how good Bama is, although they looked great against Michigan.

Arkansas with John L. Smith?? Beat Jacksonville St. (49-24)
Florida struggling mightily with BGSU?
South Carolina eeking out a win against Vandy?
LSU did what they were supposed to against North Texas (41-14).
Georgia beat up on Buffalo (45-23).
Auburn lost to Clemson.
Tennessee beat NC St. but the Vols certainly don't scare anyone as Dooley is on the hottest of hot seats.
Ole Miss, Missou, Miss St., Texas AM??

Bama and LSU are going to be very good, but the rest of the conference is an unknown IMO.

EDIT Onebuckfan states what I mean way more succinctly.

Which is how it has been a few times during the vaunted SEC era, yet ESPN hides that well.

At halftime, while sending it to commercial, they mentioned some SEC teams had a tougher time than Alabama, then never said a word about how badly Florida played against BGSU. The only hint of that was the scoreboard on screen during the positive Florida plays. No mention of Buffalo running all over Georgia either.

I think it is surprising that Michigan has no RB to backup Touissant. Look at tOSU and we can easily go 3 deep, albeit with a different skill set and experience, all guys are worthy of seeing extended field time. Then you look at Bama bringing in a true freshman RB and he rocked the ScUM defense and he isn't even the starter.

I have to agree that it seemed like Hoke played not to get Denard hurt. Bama was more than happy to let Denard sit in the pocket as most defenses would because he isn't going to hurt you with his feet. Did Kalis play?

and I thought RB was suppose to be one of our deeper positions

Same here.....

Last year Georgia lost to Boise and to Michigan State
This year Michigan State has already beaten Boise

But UGa is considered borderline elite and MSU just good.

MSU is a better program than UGA right now.

I honestly don't care about conference prestige anymore. It is largely a fabrication by ESPN to promote their ratings and agenda in the first place. Trying to stack up to the SEC is pointless because they are going to be continuously fluffed by the ESPN borg regardless of what actually happens on the field. The mindless drones that swallow their drivel hook line and sinker aren't going to be convinced of anything else no matter what facts are presented to them.

Until the $$$ points in a different direction and the agenda at the mothership changes (if it ever does) it is a waste of time to worry about.

The only impact it has is the ridiculous amount of mediocre SEC teams that are overrated in the polls every year and when ESPN pushes for a rematch between two SEC teams like last season, but with Ohio State not going to a bowl game this season I am not even worried about that right now.

You're certainly correct about Dooley, but Tennessee impressed me on both sides of the ball against NCSU. I think they'll surprise a lot of people this season. There's much more talent there than I expected to see.

Boise is a completely different team and I'd say MSU has taken a small step backwards from last year because of the new QB
