As for Tebow, I have no problem whatsoever with Tim Tebow the man. How could I? He seems like an incredible kid. What I take umbrage with is how the media has deified him and how he seems to be so damned in-your-face with his religion and "rah-rah" routine. It's nauseating. I found him crying quite hilarious and all I could think of while that was on my screen was Vito Corleone yelling "YOU CAN BE A MAN!".
Yeah, I thought he was supposed to be some incredible leader, was sitting on the bench crying and making everything all about himself WHILE HIS TEAMMATES WERE STILL PLAYING an example of good leadership?

As far as Tebow is concerned, I find it pretty difficult to dislike the kid, either on or off the field. I bet that every Tebow hater would be singing a different tune right now if he had been quarterbacking Ohio State for the past four years.
So you think that we would all like Tebow much more if he'd been bringing trophies and additional fame to our favorite college football team all this time rather than to a team we all despise? I'd say you're not really going out on a limb with that one.

I'm pretty sure there was 1 minute left in the game

I'd like Tebow if he were the QB at OSU. There'd probably still be a couple annoying things about him, but I'd definitely like him.

I would've liked Jamarcus Russell in the same situation, too.

Or Michael Vick.

etc

If he had been QBing the Buckeyes he wouldn't have been the media's duly anointed savior. Instead we'd have heard for four years about how he almost went to every other school except Ohio State.

....besides I'd be willing to bet that 90% of the Tebow "haters" in the world hate Ohio State ten times as much. :)

this is going to be a LOOOOONG offseason if Bama beats Texas.

these redneck assholes are still tooting their horns about titles from the damn 60's. We're never gonna hear the end of it now.

Hook 'em Horns!

it's even worse than I thought.
LSU fans are sucking off Bama now.

Saying Bama and Saban are the greatest. We'll never beat them again. Mighty Saban will win the SEC every year for the next millennium, etc. etc. etc.

God I hate our fanbase.

Ohio State gets some crap from the media because the Buckeyes haven't really been all that praiseworthy recently. And Florida has ... and Tim Tebow has ... so deal with it. When Ohio State changes for the better, then so will the media coverage.

FYI, Danny Wuerfal started at QB for 4 years and won 4 SEC Championships.

Tim Tebow started for 3 years and won 1 SEC Championship.

Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee and even Georgia Tech all have QBs that have won 2 SEC Championships as starting QBs.

Okay okay okay, but answer me this: Did they circumcise kids in the Philippines, convert non-believing convicts into christians, stay faithful to their right hand (or maybe their left hand depending on preference), and build noah's arc? I think not. Get the [censored] out of here you puppy hating, seal clubbing, piece of [censored].

Georgia Tech? Um, they're in the ACC ... unless you're going all the way back to the 1940's and 50's....

Good point though on Danny Wuerffel....

I've thought about it, and I pretty much like most everybody here on BP - so I'm not going to read the thread and give myself any opportunity to change that view. I've decided you wanted (read: "needed") some significant Tebow catharsis after four years of insipid Press coverage and a minute amount of unresolved dessert related allergies, so what the hell...

Pressure valve released.

On to the Sugar Bowl. :banger:

You're a good sport, Gator. You will be happy to know that lots of folks on here and in Buckeye Nation (though not all) will be cheering for the Gators to absolutely demolish and humiliate Little Brother and their chubby-cheeked, double-chinned coach!

I might bust out my old Gator jersey for the bowl game.

That's a lie.

But I'll be rooting for Florida, and even Tim Tebow.

I love Tim Tebow, and believe he warrants all the accolades he's received. And I want him to bitch-slap Cincinnati in the Sugar Bowl. He should be aware, though, that he and his mates will likely need to put up a ton of points against the Bearcats.
