Um, A-Rod sucks. Period. I don't care if his OBP was .550, I had more of an impact on the DCS than he did.

Here's something to chew on for anyone who wants to praise Gay-Rod:

Since Game 4 of last year's ALCS, "the best player in baseball (sarcasm)'s" numbers are as follows:

9 Games, 32 ABs, 3 Runs, 4 Hits, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 9 BB, 9 K, & .125 AVG.

So now we are disregarding the entire 162 game regular season for just post season stats?

I agree that A-Rod fell on his face this postseason but come on.

Don't be an idiot.

A-Rod is a great talent who feasts on bad pitching in the regular season. He can't hit good pitching, and he can't hit under pressure. Period.

A-Rod's been absolutely killed here the last few days, and rightfully so - the best way to put it is this: when David Ortiz comes up in October, you're praying that he doesn't hit a home run. When Rod comes up, you're praying that he doesn't hit into a double play.

I'm guessing you've never played baseball on a competitive level correct?

Did he not hit these same pitchers during the regular season?

So by your rationale Ortiz faced bad pitching all year as well.

Again, you're saying that the MVP should be based on post-season stats alone. What if neither team would have made the playoffs, who would you have voted for then?

that doesnt make much sense. it sounds like you're looking at that as a yankee fan. in that case you would be praying that nobody hit a home run on the other team, and that nobody hit into a dp on your team.

Only through high school. Is this where you give me the, "I batted .540 for AAU so I know more about hitting in the big leagues than you do?"

"Did he not hit these same pitchers during the regular season?"

A-Rod compiled his 45+ HR, 130+ RBI, etc. mostly against the soft underbelly of team's pitching throughout the season. In the Playoffs, when you're only facing the opposing team's top pitchers, he's fallen flat on his face. For two years in a row now ..

No, I said before the Playoffs that Ortiz was the MVP. Now, after the playoffs, I'm saying that Ortiz should be the MVP, and A-Rod sucks. Nothing more than that.

Are you on fucking crack?

Weren't most of these playoff pitchers pitching during the regular season as well?

And AGAIN I will say did Ortiz not bat against these same "soft underbelly of team's pitching?"

Your homer logic isn't flying with me.

You're making it sound like A-Rod and Ortiz batted against totally different pitchers during the season.

I'm assuming he's a Red Sox homer since he lives in Connecticut. Using his twisted logic to bash him.

I could care less about either player I'm just an impartial observer.
you're assuming sloopy is a red sox fan? i've had the guy on ignore for several months now and i can tell you he's the biggest yankee homer on the board.

that's not the hardest question to answer :)

Arod facing soft pitchers during the regular season has to be one of the dumber complaints I've heard for why arod shouldn't win. I hate gay-rod personally, and I think Ortiz was a little more clutch, but you have to come up with something better than that.

I totally agree. That's what I've been trying to tell him.
