After two trips in the last week including one over the weekend, Alabama is the main threat to flip the five-star cornerback who’s been committed to Ohio State since February.
Auburn, Georgia and now LSU are trying to get involved with the Birmingham (Ala.) Parker standout but the Crimson Tide are pushing hard for the flip at this point

100% agree with you, as the concern is always there. The one thing I haven't seen before, this recruiting classes family all recruit for OSU. I haven't ever seen anything like it. Offord's Mom, I have seen a number of times tweeting at other recruits to commit to OSU. Maybe that is the new normal and means nothing but hopeful that it means they are bought in and this is just noise.

It's definitely at a heightened level with the family recruiting and it helps. I would like to think that means they're extra solid on their commitment as well. But I about fell out of my chair on this verbal and knew that the fight is not likely over. Here's to a down year for Bama in the post-Saban era eh?

4 visits in 8 days, Bama is putting on the full court press. And I don’t blame them, he’s in their backyard. OG Walt is in for a dog fight, but I’m sure he’s always known that

Yuk! Yuk! Not certain they'd say anything but. I'm a glass half-empty guy, but don't worry, haven't had ulcers yet. Would imagine that all of the coaches are worried about their commits - even after the commit papers are signed (a la Sayin), with the 'freebie' transfer allowed by the NCAA. In my devious mind, see him working a NIL war. But on the other hand, having your mom calling other recruit's moms telling them how great it is at tOSU (and that their sons will be cared for and nurtured), could outweigh all of that. tOSU has had recruits (I'm 100% solid to tOSU) decommit and flee minutes before signing day, so as Yogi famously said, "it ain't over till it's over". The other saying would guess all coaches follow, "don't let them see you sweat". Who knows, it's recruiting season.

Birm says the Offord visits to Alabama are concerning and the Oregon official this weekend is concerning, but noted that people at Ohio State aren’t worried.

He also pointed out how Offord won’t be visiting Alabama again for months and Alabama still has to go out and show recruits that they won’t take a step back without Saban. Also mentioned that Offord will be at multiple Ohio State games this season.

Have heard it, read about it, but don't see/hear if tOSU applies to it. Do the good guys pay for these 'non-official' visits as other schools do? Wouldn't surprise me, but would surprise me, if they did. Coming up from Mississippi cannot be cheap, what with airfare from a non-hub city, and overnight accommodations, food, etc. I do see the benefit in having a highly ranked individual attending one's games, etc. mixing with the uncommitted recruits. Just wondering if anyone 'out there' has asked the question, or is it one of those, 'don't ask' thingies? Using it as a strategy to maintain a relationship with a waffling recruit? Or one they fear will be swayed by a competing school's recruiting war chest (NIL).

I would say, whatever we think the guys in the south are doing, OSU is doing the same. And tbh, I hope they offer more

Had a management seminar somewhere, sometime that essentially said one had to manage like one riding a horse. You couldn't ride a horse with a very tight rein, but also not with a loose grasp either. Has to be a steady one, with just enough tension to guide the horse (recruit) but not too tight to get them to buck (flake out-leave). As corny as this homily is, it seems to work with a horse, so am wondering if one could stretch this to apply to 18 year olds being treated like the next big thing wherever they go (on the recruiting circuit). Happy Fathers Day to those now, that were, and are to be. Go Bucks!
