2025 AL CB Na'eem Offord (Ohio St. Soft Verbal)

After tOSU puts a smackdown on Oregon, that will narrow the field. But the Ducks will always be in it with the Nike money machine behind them. Plus Oregon is bringing in a plethora of VHT safeties. By the time he's ready to matriculate, Downs will be in the NFL, so there's that. The local university (not named Alabama) will have a draw, and would bet vcash they'll sweeten the pot with maybe a new job for Dad? Not in the NCAA rules, but since when has the SEC cared/or complained about the rules?

I know home is sacred and I am sure the NIL $ is lucrative to get him there (Freeze is in his element carrying bags of cash legally as an aside). But do you want to really get paid on draft day? Answering that question should simplify the decision. By all means, take your visits but be real about your best option to get you to where you want to get in the NFL. Spoiler: It is in Columbus.

Full house in the Shoe is a tremendous selling point. So are the fans (students?) screaming his name as he walks by with the gaggle of recruits. Had a golfing friend go to a Nebraska game in the Shoe, looked at me strangely when told him to get there at least 45 minutes early, and that the band entrance etc would be the best part of the game. Guess he thought I meant tOSU would beat them down (they did), but did come back and said the band was fantastic (moonwalking, seem to recollect). Anyway, not certain whether the band means much to these recruits, but.....here's hoping Na'eem stays the course and dons the scarlet and gray. NIL $ can buy alot of winter coats. Go Bucks!

Curious if this is more of a need to stay close to home and Auburn is ponying up the money. As the product Auburn is putting on the field is trash. Which makes me wonder why Bama isn't in this race. Ohio State and Auburn are not comparable IMO. One is relevant and developes talent, the other may be shelling out money to get talent to lose 4+games a year.

It’s a not so quiet secret that there are a number of teams who are now out right paying recruits just to visit. Miami did with Smith last year, FSU did it with KJ Bolden, and those are just the 2 I can remember off hand. But if you see a kid visiting a program multiples times a month, it’s a good guess that he’s getting a chunk of change to be there, whether the team wins or losses. Is it frustrating? Very! But nothing can be done yet, and Offord has kept in complete communication with the OSU staff the entire time. I’m sure Offord knows all of the info you mentioned, as it’s said on his Twitter feed every time he visits Auburn, and I’m sure he has a TV and watches football on Sundays and sees the number of Buckeyes

It was my understanding that Jeremiah Smith kept visiting Miami because they kept paying him to come.
