Ah ha - the "screw you - my beauty sleep is more important than you are" type.

Just kidding. If the guy in front of me reclines, I just think, "aw crap." Then I go on with the flight. It's already uncomfortable. They need to cram as many people in as possible or they don't make money. It'll all be over in a few hours.

Then comes the best part - hoping your luggage made it to the same place you did. (Hint: see if you can put all your luggage in a carry-on bag.)

I can take everything in a carry-on. That fixes one potential issue I suppose. This iPad is awesome, by the way. :pimp:

Orlando is the worst for families bringing their life's possessions on board. If the airlines could figure out how to use the handhelds that take food orders to charge for extra carry-ons, we'd be better off.

(This is coming from someone who's flown ~400k over the past four years, so take it with a grain of salt.)

Oh without a doubt! I'm really hoping that by some miracle, my flight from MCO to Hartford-Bradley isn't quite full. I'm flying late on a Wednesday, so that should help my chances.

If you don't want the person in front of you to make use of the seats as they were intended, pick a bulkhead or exit row.

If said person reclines and is then squirming around, that's one thing. But I'll be damned if I can't recline and try to get some rest on a flight.
I was kidding, but I have had people suddenly recline and nearly break my laptop, and once wound up with a can of soda in my lap. People who recline after lights out are one thing, but people who do so when the lights are on, without checking what's going on behind them, should be smothered with diseased airline blankets. During lights on, that's a workspace.

While I agree 100% with this, let's all call a spade a spade... This is as much the frick'n airlines as it is the people in the seat in front of us. The way they position the seats for an extra row is the problem. Honestly, I'm done with flying United for this reason. I was on a flight recently that had almost the entire economy + section empty and the rest of the plane full. Someone asked to move to an empty row and was told they could for an upcharge.

Business is business and all, but I'm looking elsewhere now as a result.

Have had pretty good luck with American.
On an unrelated note, I was in the airport in Cancun Thursday. The Margaritaville chain was proudly displaying a promotional sign for 4 tacos and a beer for 28.95 USD. It was supposed to be a deal, as the price of 33.00 USD was crossed out. Everyone eating there had to pull their pants down around their ankles.

P.S. That is the baggage claim at San Pedro Airport on Ambergris Caye, Belize.

Heard of some consistent issues at the (Orlando) airport while I was at work yesterday, and hoping that isn't the case tonight when I'm flying out. I've had fairly lucky with mostly smooth sailing when it comes to security and planes being on time the last year, so hopefully that continues.
